Re: Oh Canada

Ben is lazy and we run a lazy offense to cater to him. It’s highly unfortunate but I think Ben has already won all the postseason games he’s going to. He will have stretches where he looks sharp but at this point I’m almost at zero confidence he can play a clean game anymore when it really matters....

Re: Matt Canada to be Named Steelers Offensive Coordinator

He is the guy that shows up to work everyday. Just because you don't like social media doesn't mean he has any issues beyond football. The kid is a class act that has carried a heavy burden the last 2 years without complaining about a single thing. I can see him being brought back because he puts i...

Re: Oh Canada

This nugget from an LSU insider re Canada:

"Canada just couldn’t get along with ANYONE. Only person I ever saw Dave Aranda actually get heated towards"

Very curious how that works with Ben.

Re: Top 5 Steelers OC Candidates (my take)

I have PTSD from Matt Canada at LSU. Maybe unfair, but my reaction to his hire would be sadness. Other than Joe Brady, who had Burrow to work with, is there any offensive coach in recent LSU memory that wouldn't give you PTSD? Nope. But that's because until Brady, our offense had been anemic.

Re: Bubba Gump

Your view of "the foreseeable future" must be a lot rosier than mine. You're thinking this roster is going to be producing a string of 12+ win seasons over the next five or so years? When I say Mac Jones territory, I mean that if he lands on a team with good skill position talent, a strong Oline, a...

Re: Bubba Gump

Trask falls into the Mac Jones category to me. I don't see anything close to franchise material there. If that's the first round pick, sets any rebuild back a few years. Ceiling of Neil O'Donnell, floor of Christian Ponder. The QB equivalent of a vanilla pudding cup. Trask makes more tight window t...

Re: Deshaun Watson

So he can have no left tackle? And let’s not forget Ben’s cap hit is nearly as bad if he retires as it would be if he stays. I think 2022 makes much more sense in terms of trading for or drafting a guy. 2022 doesn’t have nearly the number of prospects at QB of the level they are this year. We can d...

Re: Deshaun Watson

We're not going to pick high enough to get a sure thing franchise QB. So we either need to prepare to trade for one, or take a flyer on less of a "sure bet." Could we be within striking distance of a Kyle Trask? I think you have to consider it. Our roster is simply not going to be bad enough to be i...

Re: Deshaun Watson

Anyone in here saying we pass on Watson (if we were inclined to make a deal and had the ammo) unless Ben is retiring is insane. Like, I don't even want some of what you're smoking. Knife, are you actually saying you would trade for Watson and dump Ben, knowing that there will be even less money to ...

So they were going to coast until they saw Juju dancing? Bad mentality. Has McDermott lost the locker room? He might be on the hotseat.

I don't think we lose out, but we're easily the least threatening team in the current if-season-ended-today playoff field.

I was going to start this exact thread. I lost count how many times Dallas schemed their WRs on our LBs and we allow it to happen. No attempt to switch out. I get that this will happen sometimes. But it was happening all the time. It's a killer. Teams are scheming it week in and week out and we nev...

Pay attention - we aren't going to speak about it. Steelers remaining schedule: vs. CIN @ JAX vs. BAL vs. WAS @ BUF @ CIN vs. IND @ CLE I feel good about BAL at home. The games that scare you are @BUF and @CLE (for different reasons). IND is no slouch, but I fear not the sissy that spells his name ...

Throwing the info into here: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/win_prob.cgi On that 4th and 1 we had a 99.9% chance to win. Turnover on downs dropped that to 81.4%. Kicking FG would have had it at 95.6%. Someone else can do the math on the odds of converting and the odds of making a 3...

Though slightly OT, if anyone here thinks we win the next 3 games we should be 7+ point favorites in, you haven't watched a Tomlin team.

Hell, I put it 50-50 next week in Dallas.

(I kid. Thrilled with this season so far.)
