Re: Steelers sign WR Quez Watkins
I like the Watkins signing. He has real speed and the ability to stretch a defense. I've been screaming for years that we need more explosive playmakers to create more space on the field. I get it that he doesn't have the most reliable hands but I've seen him make some tough catches and big plays fo...

Re: Steelers sign Cordarrelle Patterson
I understand the signing. I just have never been a fan of 33 yr old signings at positions that require great athleticism. All he has to lose is one step, and he's basically pretty useless the next 2 years.

McLaurin is great, but you don't give up a 1st rounder and trade back 18 spots for someone who is soon to be 29.

Stop with the Bowers pipe dreams. We aren't getting him. Also, we aren't trading up unless it is a couple spots. We just don't have enough draft capital.
At this rate, we'll be lucky to get Jackson Power-Johnson at our pick.

Re: Steelers Trade For Justin Fields
Lamar sucks against good defenses. He really does. But, he's Joe Montana at reading defenses compared to Justin Fields. Have you all watched Fields lately? He's got guys running wide open and just doesn't recognize it. That's why he holds onto the ball so long, takes sacks, and fumbles. He has a HOF...

Re: The Steelers are now officially the........
Omar is trying and I give him credit for that. Wilson is better than Pickett and Mason IMO. So we should see some lift but the Oline still needs bolstering and I need to WR weapons added. Will Tomlin always hold the team back? Probably. But, we hired a OC with credentials for the first time in a lon...

Re: Steelers Trade For Justin Fields
The fumbles for Fields are troubling but you have to put that in context of someone that loves to run a lot. Still concerning. But, as B2B said, the bigger concern is between the ears with Fields. If you can't scan the field after multiple years in the NFL, your chances of developing that all of a s...

Re: Mike Williams coming in
Not everyone is a Debbie Downer. I think most on here like a lot of the moves but there may be ones we don't like. I liked the Wilson addition for cheap for example, but I'm not a fan of Justin Fields as an NFL QB. (He can run though anytime in my offense.) Williams is really good but broken all too...

Fields does suck but he can be a good number 2. Problem is we gave away draft capital for a one yr player. If Wilson gets hurt that turns into a 4th rounder.

Re: Pickett traded to Eagles
Feels like Tannehill and a relatively early pick with near term upside or Fields and a late round pick / UDFA Why is everyone in a hurry to repeat the EXACT SAME MISTAKE they made with Kenny: picking a QB early from a terrible selection? Mark my words: if they pick a QB early this year they will se...

I like it. We need more speed on offense. Speed, speed, speed. A #3 with speed is a nice mismatch.

Re: Pickett traded to Eagles
I'm shocked because it opens up more holes on O. We are down to one QB and really one real WR on offense. That's not a good place to be a week into free agency with only 6 draft picks. The FO and Tomlin really must have been pissed at Kenny. I still don't understand how Fields would work. We have so...

Re: Steelers to sign LB Patrick Queen
Queen is an elite hitter and maybe the best blitzing ILB in the league. He played next to Roquan and we all would rather have Roquan. I get it. But, I can see the allure. The question becomes what are they doing with Elandon? We aren't going to play Queen and Elandon together so they still have to m...

Re: FA signings - Still available
Can we not sign the "aging vets" on that list please? This is a young man's game except in certain rare positions. Let's also stay away from broken players unless we are really confident they will heal and are young still. We can't trot out another old defense that has lost a step and expect to win.

Re: Per Schefter: Russell Wilson is a Steeler, signs one-year deal
I actually think we do need another TE if Smith is running that offense. Freiermuth is solid (not spectacular) and has blocking issues. Also injury prone. Darnell is a glorified mobile OT. Heyward is limited as we all know. Wilson certainly could use another legit TE target.

It's a no brainer move, but make no mistake though, Wilson is about his brand. He would not be coming here if it weren't for Tomlin. He thinks his brand is enhanced with Mike T since the media continually fawn all over him.

Re: Per Schefter: Russell Wilson is a Steeler, signs one-year deal
I just don't see a lot of downside to this signing. I don't like his diva personality and weird character either, BUT 1. It's cheap as hell and guarantees we will be drafting QB in a yr. 2. It could improve the team. 3. Worst case he implodes and becomes a major team cancer. But, that could actually...

Re: Go get Russell Wilson
People are jizzing over JJ because they secretly think he has untapped potential. They think he has a hidden upside that has been masked by having to hand off all the time. He also threw well in shorts. It's a big gamble IMO. He's got a very very lean frame and I'm not sure he will hold up in the NFL.

I just don't see it with Penix either. I don't love Nix, but I'd much rather have him if we are going QB in Rd 1 (which we aren't).

Re: I never want to see little ken ever again
I'm a big believer that if the FO isn't sold on Kenny, then it is their duty to look at drafting QB. They haven't shown interest of course so it's a moot point. But, you have to keep rolling the dice. The defense is already getting on the older side and needs replenishment despite a lot of draft cap...

I'm annoyed that we aren't actively turning over every stone to improve the team...punter included. I'd rather not waste a draft pick on a punter, so it would have been nice to bring in a guy with tons of college pedigree.

I could live with more TE sets if our number 2 and 3 TEs weren't Heyward and Washington. Heyward is limited and Washington is like a 1977 Impala trying to get up to speed. They threaten no one.

Araiza is a common Mexican name, so I don't think the lack of DEI points is causing this. No team is touching him because they don't want the PR headaches. Thing is though he was cleared. I don't know why he has to continue to be blackballed.

We wish. This would be a bold move for a franchise so worried about its PR. It would show me Omar's head is going in the right direction.
