Re: Steelers RB Group Overview

I'd like to know where people get the idea that the new QB coach is going to design a new offense. I'm sure he will contribute to the room, like every other offensive coach... but how did there get to be the expectation that Canada is going to overhaul things?

Re: McFadden 2005 divisional game @ Indy

I just watched the whole game yesterday. Those of us who have played sports--especially if you've played defense-- know the feeling you have when the game is on the line and the ball comes in your direction. Scary as shit, no matter who you are. McFadden was a rookie, facing arguably one of the bes...

Re: McFadden 2005 divisional game @ Indy

I must be getting old. I had no idea that Ben hurt his throwing arm during that game. Is that actually the case? It is referred to during the NFL's Greatest GAmes or Classic games? (not sure) segment that aired this matchup last week. Something about a hyperextension. My memory isn't that bad and I...

Re: A Steelers preview and prediction

He's not clueless... but the season prediction is just so detached from reality. If Ben has a normal season, I can barely find losses on there. Maybe 4 if they struggle to replace Hargrave in base. They absolutely crashed down the stretch... and were 8-8 without a healthy Ben. The schedule is much, ...

Re: Steelers Broncos 1997- GREAT GAME

I think it's also a great view of Elway, in the context of comparison to Ben at this stage. They're similar players but you can see some of Elway's flaws-- short pass touch/accuracy not his strong suit and his pocket movement-- which seemed brilliant earlier in his career-- all but gone by his SB-wi...

Re: Steelers Broncos 1997- GREAT GAME

I remember this game. As soon as Slash threw that interception in the forth quarter when they were up by 4 and going more I thought for sure that Elway was going to lead them to a go ahead touchdown. I believe Slash had one of his best games that day. Nothing wrong with the pass he threw—-defender ...

But now you can’t hit punt returners immediately after they catch the ball and you can’t hit a KO returner on an attempted onside kick as he tries to catch the ball.

Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero

NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith pegged the chances of an NFL season at 6 or 7 out of 10 -- which registers as a realistically optimistic number. Still a lot to work out, including how to handle players in higher-risk categories for COVID-19. @nflnetwork

I saw that some expert analytics simulations run thousands of times yielded the Lightning having a league-best 17% chance of winning the tourney and the Pens only a 1.7% chance.

Re: Full stadiums in September

States are actively suppressing the statistics and keeping test numbers low, that's for sure. The only way we're going to know what's happening is when people you know start to get sick or die. Or maybe nothing like that will happen and another 100,000 will die just for the hell of it.

Re: Full stadiums in September

I wouldn't call the beach crowds "massive" this weekend. It was responsible and distanced here, and was monitored. Our short term rental ban and quarantine for out of state travel ends June 1st, so we'll see if folks from other states come down and act foolish. That will trigger both ban and quaran...

I don't care what the format is: I like the Pens and the Steelers chances in this weird sports season we're about to have. I wonder what a $10 parlay on Pens-Steelers would get you?

Re: Dolphins looking to trade Rosen?

People keep saying he's got all the tools haven't watched him very much. His arm strength is well below average, his pocket presence is abysmal, and he crumbles into a fleshy pee when under duress. On top of that, he's supposedly a jerk and doesn't inspire the troops to play for him. Oh, and his rec...

Re: The almighty Chickillo signs with the saints

I am glad he is off the market. I have listened to shows with Dale Lolley and even Art Moats where they are hoping that Chickillo and Barron were still 'on the table', that they were still 'options to come back at a reduced rate'. Sorry, I feel that if a team moves on from a player, it should mean ...

I would take Rudolph and a Duck over Rosen as a FA.

A trade for Rosen is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard posed on this website... unless it’s a trade of Switzer for Rosen, in which case... sure.

Re: Steelers RB tandem ranked last

These rankings may or may not be accurate... but either way they’re dumb. And no Ben won’t get any credit for high performance *despite* lowly ranked WR, RB, TE groups. They’ll re-write the narrative, rather than give 7 any credit. Regardless, the time for worrying about public perception or ranking...

And it appears to be about superspreader hotspots, to which ...
