Re: Porter rips Ben

Many years ago I met a college teammate of Ben's who did not go on to play pro ball. He told me, unsolicited, that Ben was a jerk. I believed him then and I believe him now. Frankly who cares, he delivered us two Super Bowl wins. And without him all the choir boys in the world wouldn't have won shit.

Re: Steelers blew it with Klint Kubiak

I think one thing we know for sure, given McCarthy's historic preferences is that it will NOT be a "4 TE centric offense." What dazzling modern NFL offensive scheme can we expect to see from Coach McCarthy? I mean it won't be dazzling, but it'll have West Coast vibes, which is more modern than what...

Re: Steelers blew it with Klint Kubiak

Guess a young, innovative, and now Super Bowl winning offensive mind was too extreme for the Steelers to consider. Must stick to paleolithic 4 TE centric offense. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this Kubiak was never on the Steelers radar, IIRC. They had some interest in his brother.
But let’s face it…A2 knew he was hiring McCarthey five minutes after Tomlin walked out his door…
If true, why the F not?

Yes, I agree McCarthy will be sitting on his couch again, permanently, in a year or two.

Steelers blew it with Klint Kubiak

Now that it's official that he's leaving to coach the Raiders, how much do we regret not even interviewing Klint Kubiak for the HC job?

Too bad coward Rooney wouldn’t hire an innovative young coach instead of a double retread 60 year old.

Re: Pickens is getting a bag

Pickens had twice the production and half of the drama as DK this season....them's the facts.

But keep telling yourself trading Pickens while signing DK to a $150,000,000 contract was the right move.

Re: Pickens is getting a bag

But I heard Pickens has a bad attitude. It could cause him to do something crazy like go fight a fan in the stands and get suspended for two crucial games that almost cost the Steelers a playoff spot. Oh wait...

He started crying about 10 seconds into the press conference. This clearly means the world to him.

I admire the hell out of that.
Win a playoff game first and then I'll cry.

He said he was taking a year off (but that didn't come down until late last week); so you can say they were already going to take McCarthy before McD was fired.

If we wanted an established HC instead of a up and coming coordinator why wouldn't we have interviewed former Bill's HC Sean McDermott?

Rushing to hire McCarthy = sprinting to the podium during draft?

We all know the Steelers LOVE sprinting to the podium during the early rounds of the draft rather than take the allotted time and entertain possible trades. Was rushing to hire McCarthy when he had zero other offers equivalent to this common Steelers practice which I can only imagine is done to make...

Tomlin should stay out of coaching

His legacy is a Super Bowl and NHALS. If he comes back he's not winning a playoff game and he's likely to lose NHALS too. The man has made over $100,000,000 and is set for life. I'm sure he would make another $100,000,000 as a talking head on CBS or ESPN without exposing himself as a fraud to anothe...

Reminder: Steelers were curbstomped by a turnover machine

Stroud has 4 picks including a pick six today. He had approximately 8 turnovers against the Steelers and they still won by 4 scores.

Just a reminder how bad that WC performance was. Perhaps worse than losing to Tim Freakin Tebow.

He should lay low for 3-5 years. After a new coach is installed (and assuming he doesn't have playoff success during that period) fans will welcome Tomlin back more fondly.

Nope. Not even a lil. And I do t care if the new coach delivers a losing season next year. I’m sure the media will be all over that. Oh look, new coach and Steelers have their first losing season in 20 years. I’ll relish it. Don’t expect the new coach to come in and win with this roster. Going to t...
