Re: Steelers Trade Up or Down or Stay

Stay. The roster needs serious upgrading after Tomlin destroyed it. Yeah, the role players are comprised of a bunch of guys with "positional flexibility" who aren't even average at anything. I don't expect much from McCarthy in terms of winning a championship, but my hope is no more of this "square...

What until we get AI officiating. And, of course, the NFL will have a few dials it can turn to tighten or loosen the officiating, and also help the losing team get back in the game.

Re: Mike Tomlin finally speaks

My guess is I don’t think Tomlin is gonna be calling games. I’m pretty sure they are gonna put him in the studio where everyone can marvel at his wordsmithing greatness! I thought that was a given. Did people actually think he was going to be a color analyst? Tomlin is made for that studio j...

Re: Mike Tomlin finally speaks

You know, there's a whole generation that grew up watching football without Madden. Tomlin can totally re-make some classic Madden-isms: "usually the team that gives up less points wins the game" "the defense should expect a pass here....unless it's a run" "you can't have a losing season unless you ...

He will quit after one week because Gronk will anticipate and finish every one of Tomlin's sentences and then spike the ball on him. While I quit watching the talking heads years ago, it would be NAUSEATING watching Tomlin criticize someone who had the guts to take a risk or innovate in pursuit of ...

Re: Mike Tomlin finally speaks

If Tomlin ends up with a television position, which seems inevitable at this point People have always said his BS was perfect for TV He'll have little actual prep and work to do - just show up and read from the teleprompter. Gotta be his dream job - he's going to be kicking himself for not doing it...

I've always said glorified babysitters. That's what the results indicate. No evidence of "good teachers" in test scores. I don't think it will be very long before students get at least 75% of their learning from AI. So, you know, keep getting every extra day off you can.....because soon you'll have ...

Unless PIT is lying, they seem to like Howard quite a bit.

Maybe accept that PIT has a higher opinion than you do of a guy you've never seen play in the NFL.

Big bro now whining that us Steeler fans didn’t understand Conner’s “role” and how valuable he is to the team. I know he's just supporting his brother, but this statement was completely unnecessary. Re: We should use ALL 12 of our Picks

If they draft 12 pro bowlers, 12 guys will make the team. The number of picks is not the problem. It's not a numbers game, except it is. The REAL reason not every pick makes the team is it's an imperfect process. People are arguing to trade-up because you aren't as great at picking talent, which is ...

Re: We should use ALL 12 of our Picks

Cultural turnover is needed, so as many fresh faces in camp as possible makes sense to me. And turning over the bottom of the roster with guys for your "system" is just as important as the top of the roster (which is more difficult and slower to churn). Do I want this guy for ST, or do I want more ...

one where both parties can save face.
rooney isn’t ‘racist’ for firing him
and tomlin wasn’t fired because of his failures.

He consistently made the steelers more successful than the sum of their parts. He's the ultimate high floor low ceiling coach. No, coaching to a "high floor" is the exact opposite of the sum being greater than its parts. To outperform the talent, you have to maximize potential. That's not what Toml...

Well on paper they are better. Hindsight. Squad last year was expected to win a playoff game, at least. But after Tomlin got done doing his thing, the narrative made it's annual change to "Tomlin overachieving with a shitty roster". If Mike McCarthy swings and misses, then they'll win maybe 7-8 gam...

I just think the owners and players have decided a game is a "destination experience". No better illustration than the NFL international games - literally taking away...

His home in squirrel hill is still not on market. Maybe he sticks around town He can certainly afford to keep it. While the NFL loves to recycle coaches, especially overrated ones, I'm not convinced there was actually any demand for Tomlin as a HC. It's pretty easy for anyone to look at his last 10...
