Re: This draft = time to Pawnd da rock?
I’m actually hoping we’re so far behind the times that we’re actually ahead. With everyone else going pass happy and finesse, maybe a big, mauling team can manhandle those finesse teams. Personally, I see it as a recipe to be successful in the regular season, but is going to fall short in the playof...

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Had to have somewhere to talk about the dang goaltending in the Florida v Tampa Bay game. Total shame one of those guys had to lose. Bobrowsky made the save of the year with a backward flying angel. Also, how can anyone who sees the NHL's #1 PP feed Stamkos over and over for one-timers not think th...

Re: Pens vs Bruins (4/13/24)
I’m not normally a fan of leagues manipulating schedules for ratings, but backloading schedules with mostly divisional games is one my favorite trends in sports right now.
It basically makes the playoffs start a few weeks sooner. It’s extending the playoffs without actually extending the playoffs.

Re: Pens v. Leafs
The one flaw in Sid's game. His choice of skates. Doesn't use what the rest of the league uses. Likes old school skates. I might be off base here but Sully doesn't like to push the envelope in OT. Plays it safe. Definitely not off base. It’s weird though. I remember at the beginning of the season i...

Re: Pens vs Capitals (4/4/24)
Great win, all around. Crazy to see this team commit to playing sound defense after all we've seen this season. If only that commitment would have happened in November. Bunting is a firecracker. I like him a lot. Tanev-esque in his energy and effort level. This team desperately needed that energy. I...

Re: Diggs traded to Houston
I still think the Steelers DJ trade was a bad one. You know they weren't going to re-sign Johnson after this year, right? Also, besides the guy's often incredible stupidity on the football field (no doubt he's talented, but his idiocy too often outweighed that talent) I 100% believe the Steelers ar...

Thankfully the Rangers came back from a blown lead( a league staple) to beat the Islanders last night. No one is talking about Ned's back to back gems in NY and on the Island. He might have given the Birds a chance. Anyone see Torts latest blow up after the Flyers last loss? He sure likes to talk a...

Re: Pens vs Devils (4/2/24)
Last night's game was one of the first I've watched in a little while. After their most recent slide, I thought they'd be completely out of the playoff hunt. Yet, I checked this morning, and they're still somehow only 3 points behind Washington for the last wildcard spot. They play Washington tomorr...

Re: Steelers sign WR Quez Watkins
IDK. A lot of things have to go right for them to be a solid contender. We’d need a coaching staff to actually make all the new pieces mesh, for one. This coaching staff takes 12 games to teach the players how to perform a simple substitution, and that’s largely with players who have been there for...

Fun fact: The Pens are only 5 points out of a playoff spot, and have played the least amount of games of all the other teams vying for that spot. Saw someone tweet that last night and it blew my mind. I haven’t been paying much attention, but I’m guessing the other WC teams aren’t setting the world ...

Ready to get depressed? Jared McCann is making $5m/year. Same as Rakell and Riley Smith. Danton Heinen is playing on Boston's top line and making league minimum. That's basically a bag of chips in the hockey world, but we're at least getting something for these guys who are FAs at the end of the season, and shouldn't be kept anyways.
