Re: 2.47 WR Germie Bernard, Alabama

Fine pick if we develop an offense that knows how to use slot receivers.

Re: Steelers have given Aaron Rodgers an Ultimatum

I mean, he voluntarily went to a team led by Mike Tomlin. So..... Everyone wanted to play for Mike Tomlin…until they actually played for Mike Tomlin. Rodgers was still saying he wanted to play for Mike Tomlin after Tomlin left. Passionately defended him. But I cant believe in the back of their mind...

Re: Steelers have given Aaron Rodgers an Ultimatum

I'm on board for one more season with AR. I want to truly see what a different coaching staff could do with this same team. It would be a waste not to at least see what McCarthy could do with it. New blood, new attitude, maybe some optimism. Rodgers can still win it all with the right pieces around ...

Re: A take on McCarthy

Putting a rookie HC in charge of this team might not be the best strategy at this time - because we have 20+ years of Tomlin that needs to be fixed first. Accept Rooney stated he had no intention of replacing Tomlin so in Rooney’s mind there isn’t 20 years of anything that needs to be fixed…. ….the...

Re: A take on McCarthy

If McCarthy came in to clean house, trade off the older assets and start a true rebuild I could get behind that. The issue is they feel like they are close and are probably going to bring back Rodgers and more FAs and be stuck in the middle for the next 5 years. Whats to say that isnt the plan. He'...

A take on McCarthy

Does anyone think maybe this team needs a couple of years of major cleanup, the induction of a solid set of coordinators. and a Vet HC to take the wheel from Tomlin and get the bus back on the road? We all want young, innovative, fresh, I get it. But maybe we're best putting that kind of coach in af...

Tomlin wasn’t the problem.

Rooney is and has always been the problem.

That now is abundantly clear.
I think we'll realize just how big a problem Tomlin really was if McCarthy gets to coach the same team this year,

Re: The most uninspired HC hire ever?

I'm not as bummed as some. Maybe that's because my opinion of Tomlin is lower than many. i think McCarthy is leagues better than Tomlin as a coach and as someone to change the trajectory of this team. There's nothing inspiring about the hire, but (and it's my big hope....) BUT if they can convince R...

2. Keep Rodgers 1 more year
Rodgers came to Pittsburgh for one reason. To play for Mike Tomlin.

I think he's probably going to permanently retire, but even if he decides to play again, it won't be in Pittsburgh.
You dont think Rodgers would consider playing for McCarthy?

Re: Draft

Put me on the other side - just for this year. Why not put all the chips forward and give it one more shot with this Roster before a rebuild - I only say this if we can keep Rodgers interested and healthy. 2 more legitimate targets for him and we're a different team. 1. New HC/OC/DC 2. Keep Rodgers ...

Are there requests to interview him? Has he stated he isn't open to interviewing right now? If Tomlin decides he is ready and willing to coach, and still there are crickets, what would that say about all those years of: - If the Steelers fired Tomlin he'd be hired in a second by another team. - If ...

McCarthy as OC in interesting...

Looking at Vets for Coordinator jobs is almost a dead giveaway the Steelers are looking at inexperienced young Head Coaching candidates. They would never interview a coordinator first if they were looking at Vets for HC.

Words and statistics can be so misleading, and Mike Tomlin is a case in point. Words: Mike Tomlin consistently overachieves and gets the most out of his team. Reality: Mike Tomlin consistently builds below quality teams and coaches and needs a miracle to win with them. Words: Mike Tomlin has one of ...

The past is always viewed with nostalgia and rose colored glasses. The truth is that this dude had full control of his job status, and was takings 8 figures a year to produce a mediocre product. Is that honorable? I guess it depends on how you look at it. I dont think he gave it his all. (at least I...

It was worth it to get Rodgers. Because anyone with half an intellect should walk away from this season realizing it takes a generational HOF QB to move this offense, and it has to happen when he turns his ear piece off and does it himself.

And our defense was actually worse.

Everyone calling out a failed fourth down push. We executed it perfectly. The problem is that it’s the absolute wrong call when you need 2 yards.

Technically it was well executed and over achieved.
