No thanks. I'll take 9-8 and when we eventually get back to the SB, we win it.

Steelers 6-2 vs Cheats 6-5 in the big game
It looks like 6-6 soon. This is the Pats' 12th appearance.

Re: OTD - On This Day in Steelers History

1 amazing thing about this team: In 1974, the rookie year for those 5 Hall of Famers, only 1 of those rookies was a regular starter, and they were still the Super Bowl champions in '74. In retrospect, it's not surprising that they won 3 more by 1980.

Re: OT: Belichek denied HOF

Someone mentioned that Chuck Noll had to wait 5 years to be elected into the Hall of Fame. That's not true. He retired from coaching in December 1991. The selection process for the summer of '92 class was well underway at that time and Noll was ineligible that year. The following season, he was sele...

Re: The most uninspired HC hire ever?

Of all the prospects I heard about, this was the one I least wanted to be hired. I think they had a good thing going for a long time. I wanted them to hire a young defensive assistant coach from another NFL team who had never been a head coach before. The fact that he had been a Cowboys coach was a ...

Re: James Harrison claims...

If Harrison had more good things to say about Cowher than about Tomlin, that's surprising to me. Cowher was the head coach for the first 5 years of Harrison's career, and Harrison was a backup that entire time. Then Tomlin took over, and suddenly Harrison was an All-Pro. He was DPOY in Tomlin's seco...

His track record of never having a losing season in 19 years will likely never be duplicated.     I mean, Landry did go 21 years without a losing season The point is that he NEVER had a losing season in his 19 year tenure in Pittsburgh. Landry had a 21 year run, but he had...

Where do the Steelers practice when it's cold or snowy out? Outdoors or indoors? If they don't practice in the cold weather, I don't see how there would be any advantage over warm weather teams.

Re: Ravens at Steelers Game Comments & The Airing of Grievances

Today's game is, in effect, a playoff game. The loser doesn't play again until September, and the winner has taken a step toward a championship, and will play again next week. The Steelers are in a 5 game playoff right now. They will be the champions if they win 5 straight, and will be finished for ...

James Harrison body slammed a Cleveland fan and he didn't get any punishment. Metcalf whiffs on his stalker and gets two games...unfair. ;)

Re: Fine not suspend DK

I'm sure the coaching staff have been coming down hard on that fool this evening. He let his team down. He won't be available for at least the rest of the regular season.

I figure the fact that he didn't hit him very hard is what keeps this from being a year-long or lifelong suspension.

Tiebreakers

What if Baltimore wins the rematch and there's a tie for 1st in the North? The head-to-head would be split, so on to division record. If the Steelers lost to Cleveland and Baltimore, then the ravens would win that tiebreaker with a 4-2 division record vs 3-3 for Pittsburgh. But if the Steelers beat ...

It might be too early to deliberately give up points yet, but our offense could at least stop trying to score.

Re: Dolphins at Steelers Game Comments and Super Bowl Plans

11/11 > 10/11 Math is hard for mediocre Mike But it's also the perfect example of how absurdly conservative he is. Rodgers is back there for a fumbled snap. The odds of a fumbled snap rolling to him, however, with 2 guys behind the runner likely to kick it seem rather low. And the hands in the pock...

Speaking of chains, I haven't seen a single measurement with the sticks all season. Did they get rid of using them?
I think it's done electronically now. They have those things that look like goal line pylons, and they have electric eyes or something. The chains are just for backup, I think.

Yes, but with enough preparation, the instinct can be changed. I've seen quarterbacks bat the ball down in similar situations.

There's not much to be gained by catching the ball there.

Re: Steelers at Ravens Game Comments & Bedwetting

Maybe Rodgers hasn't learned this lesson yet: If a pass gets batted up in the offensive backfield, and it's not 4th down, an offensive player shouldn't try to catch it, or bat it up again. Rodgers should have knocked the ball DOWN to the ground. Or were they so intent on running clock that they were...

Like I've said before, it seems that the goal in every game is to almost lose. Do they ever score in the 4th quarter when they have the lead? How often does the other team fail to pick up first downs in the 4th quarter when the Steelers have the lead? It's happened at least once this year, I think. ...

Like in the two years he did get the team to the Super Bowl because other teams knocked out the Patriots for him. In 2008, the Patriots missed the playoffs with an 11-5 record. One of those 5 losses the pats had was against the Steelers. Surely if they had beaten the Steelers and gone 12-4 the Patr...
