If Jones pans out to his ceiling at LT, he's more valuable than any CB not in the Rod Woodson stratosphere.
And what’s he worth if he doesn’t?
If he gives us John Jackson level play for a decade? Probably still more in this NFL.

Re: John Frascella PS QB Drama Details

Anyone remember the story from last year where Mike Tomlin apparently told Minkah that he thought Christian Gonzalez lacked a 'competative edge' and cited an unnamed source? Turns out the story was written by a UPS driver in Kentucky. Wow just Wow. Is that why we passed on Gonzalez and went with Jo...

Watson is 0-3 vs Pittsburgh in his career and has posted atrocious stat lines in his 2 games with the Browns, which include a sack/fumble scoop and score and a pick 6.

Re: 2024 SF Board Draft Comments & Critiques

First offense misdemeanor DWI... unless there were weird extenuating circumstances, I'm not taking him off the board for it. If it's a late day two or day 3 pick, it'd be a big help filling a hole without blowing a premium selection. Every time I read DWI and Texas in the same sentence, I think of D...

To be fair, an injury robbed Richard of a full shot on the post-season circuit (an injury sustained while scoring a touchdown).

I'd rather not have had to use a top-100 on a WR with all the other needs. If the compensation back from Carolina had been a less mediocre player, I'd have been more enthusiastic, but, as B2B and others have stated, he's not really Art Smith's type at WR.

Re: Pre Draft Visit and Pro Day Tracker

Shawn Oakman is quite the Fury draft callback. Still playing CFL football at 31. In other news, Chase Claypool (I prefer Les by a large margin) has begun his CFL journey with the Saketchewan Rough Riders. Wondering if he a teammate on Saketchewan that will help him expand his social media exposure....

Based on where Tomkhan have been with pro days so far, first round WR seems highly unlikely unless, say, Rome Odunze falls to them.

Re: Diggs traded to Houston

Pretty much how I'm seeing it. I like the strategy of adding an established WR, and probably Diggs is the best talent-wise of what's left, but unless I'd had a serious talk about what went down in Buffalo, I wouldn't be putting him next to my young QB and in my young WR room.

Karl Dunbar at LSU's pro day So, for those of us thinking Michael Thomas in the 1st, that'd most likely be a resounding no. Weidl and Ike supposedly there, too, fwiw. You mean Bryan Thomas? I remember a bunch of people on this board wanted the Steelers to take him in the 2013 Draft. Would have been better than Jervis. Better late than never. I was a really big fan of him as a prospect. Really pushed for him that year. Hasn’t exactly had the career I hoped but he has carved out a nice ...

Re: Any update on Heyward’s contract?

Only thing they could possibly do with a restructure is add void years, but all that would do is just add cap hit in the future when Cam is no longer on the roster. No point in doing that unless you need to clear space to get someone signed. This makes me wonder. If they don’t restructure him, they...

Re: NFL Looking to Neuter Defense Even More

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 Gotta admit, it'd make things a little more interesting on that side of the ball. Could throw in something similar to intentional grounding for holding on a clear path to a sack, for good measure. If the offense gets subjective calls six ways till Sunday, might as well throw the defense a bon...

NFL has always been unfair to the defense. I know many will hate it...I don't. He's a good pass catcher and will serve as RB 3. I think there's still some gas left in the tank after watching him last year. He also just became the primary kick returner with the rule changes today. KR definitely just became a lot more important, particularly ...

The DBs will just dive at knees Which will then get banned. They’re allowed to hurt knees. There no fines for that. This is going to be a hot mess. All self inflicted. When they legislated the "new tackling" into HS and college (and the league), you got the hip drop. Now, you'll see the knee smash....

He brings a good bit of NFL experience. Has pretty good stats. Got hurt last year, but appears to be MUCH better depth, than we had in the past. If he is still ascending, is healthy, from what I've read, he could even give Larry O a run for his money. https://steelersdepot.com/2024/03/steelers-sign...
