It matters to me not wanting to watch a Mahomes dynasty.
I'm cool with it. He seems like a non-douche, unlike Brady.

Also, I'm impressed "non-douche" comes up in spell check

I don't want the Mahomes Chiefs to become another Brady Patriots style dynasty. Let's give Mahomes a loss here and put his winning another off a year.
It's not really going to matter to us. First we have to get rid of Tomlin, and then we have to wait for that next franchise QB.

I wouldn't mind Uncle Brucie winning a SB, but I can't stand Brady.

Also, there's really nothing to hate with KC. Maybe a few too many Mahomes State Farm commercials.

I take it you missed the ESPN doc on Smith’s recovery where they were seriously worried he might die after shit started going seriously haywire early on with his leg? I said it was from an infection. You probably missed that. You miss a lot. He contracted a flesh eating bacteria after the first sur...

I have a feeling Uncle Brucie might need someone next year Wouldn't that be something! But Brady has already said he could see himself playing next year. He's a little less than 1200 yards behind Brees. 364 completions behind Brees. Four Q4 comeback behind Manning, and 6 behind in game winning driv...

Re: Sources: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers to discuss contract, future

Ben said this. He said he would rather retire than not play in Pittsburgh like a year or two ago. Ben says a lot of things I don't think he really believes. I don't think anyone involved wants him to retire in another jersey. But you can't always get what you want. As I said, there's a possibility ...

ehhh, too tired to crunch the numbers again. Forgot about Rudolph, make what Freudian conclusion of that you will....Only 4 of Rudolph's 43 attempts came from shotgun! But that's also the lone game that Canada called. I guess we'll find out how much of this predictability is really on Ben. I said se...

Re: Arians throwing a little shade on his buddy Ben?

Ben will be moving on soon, the type of QBs they look at as a replacement will tell us all we need to know about what they see for the running game in the future. It's all an interesting discussion. Maybe PIT thought they could run better out of shotgun. At the end of the day, there's only so much ...

Re: Alex Smith - Comeback Player of the Year

Smith had a potentially life-ending injury. No he didn't. He got an infection in the hospital recovering from the first surgery, and that infection is really what caused most of the subsequent issues. Happens a lot. It's a risk of going under the knife. His recovery is more improbable only because ...

I'm sorry, did Alex Smith do all those operations himself? If so, then he deserved 36 out of 36 votes.

Re: Alex Smith - Comeback Player of the Year

But it can be reasonably argued that Alex Smith's chances of playing again were much worse than Ben's chances. Both had potentially career ending injuries. They both more than met the standard of qualification. Presumably the award would have been more than just deciding which guy made a roster wit...

You absolutely can slap some arbitrary number on the salary. Just say he gets 19 million again next year all as base salary. No you can't. If all parties want back in 2022, he has to be paid appropriately. Maybe $19M is too much. Maybe it's a lowball. There won't be any guarantees. That's not the i...

You and Perch are going to have to point out to me where they directly factor in stats into the Comeback POTY. They don't. But it appears they are factoring in unrelated surgical issues. So, two guys who aren't expected to play again. One plays at an MVP-level for 3 months, and another limps in to ...

They engraved Alex Smith on the Comeback POTY Award the moment he stepped back on a football field to play...as they should have. He deserves it. Moving on... Faneca was an incredible run blocker. IMO, his pass pro was average at best, to be generous. I saw him beat PLENTY in those early Ben years before Faneca walked.

Does that add-up to HOF? Apparently.

I think Ben going shock some of the Naysayers Yeah, this has almost nothing to do with restructuring his deal to lower the cap number. That was going to happen whether or not Ben retired. His bonuses and salary are actually "only" $19M - his play last year doesn't warrant lowering that number, and ...

Re: Alex Smith - Comeback Player of the Year

Alex Smith was easily the Comeback POTY. The guy literally almost died. 17 surgeries. I don't think almost dying from infection really factors in. His injury was the more improbable to come back from, but Ben's injury - to the throwing arm of a QB - really doesn't take much of a back seat. More or ...

I keep searching for the James Harrison interview either before the 2010 SB, or a year or two after (or 4?)... There was a stark contrast in Harrison's comments on Cowher vs. Tomlin. You going to disagree then major parts of QB have been removed from the playbook to placate Ben Some things, but probably not nearly as much as you think. IMO, play action disappeared because our OL can't hold it's blocks long enough. That has been painfully obvious throughout the latter half of Be...

The offense was hit or miss, and certainly fell apart at the end of the season, but even when discussing this season, that last post is full of generalization, assumptions based on no facts, and conjecture. I get it, you're mad at the way it ended, and you want to be mad at somebody (or anybody? Or...

Re: Arians throwing a little shade on his buddy Ben?

Manning, who was an absolute slave to his pre-snap reads, used to be manipulated by good playoff defenses. That's why he has, I think, the two worst postseason QBR's in a SB run ever - carried to his only rings. And that's what Ben has become (or made into) the past 5 years or so. To be successful, ...

JuJu is a nice piece but not an absolute difference maker. This team had basically 4 #2 receivers last year. Very nice as a group, but none of them deserve 8-figure deals. Maybe Claypool will become a true #1 receiver. Hard to project the way the offense disappeared at the end of the year, but it's...
