Re: OSU-ND
Just saying, however you want to frame it, the folks deciding probably looked at a really close loss against the undefeated #1 team in the country at the time, and wins over PSU and Indiana (both top 10, PSU top 5), who they handled decisively, and a 3 point last second rivalry loss for Ohio and dec...

Re: OSU-ND
Funny, most would say maybe after SMU, IU was the least deserving playoff team, and certainly nobody was going to rank them ahead of tOSU after what happened in Columbus less than a month earlier.
Honestly, IU's ranking probably set the floor for tOSU's.

That Buckeye team, contrasted with what I watched from the Steelers on Sunday... made me wish the pros played Saturdays and college Sundays.

Fully endorse the first three rounds  8-) It'd even cause me to go out of my way to find out of market Steeler games next season. I wish Egbuka would be there when we draft, but something tells me gone, daddy, gone. Williams, sheesh, I've mentioned it'd be great to find our next great NT when t...

Re: OSU-ND
Fun game, really fun playoff, and a great job of sticking together as a team after the disaster after Thanksgiving, pulling together and getting the job they all came back and came together for done. Just a really easy group of kids to like all year long, and a bright spot in an otherwise uninspirin...

RIP Uke. I actually kinda like Grant, and it's about time we had a great NT again. How long since Fat Casey hung em up? Interesting how the defensive issues up the middle trace their origin to right about then. I kinda think Tomlin tries to plug 43 DTs into our 34 base. I get most of the time we're ...

Re: Hoosiers
For what it's worth, Chip Trayanum could very likely be just as good an NFL back as Najee is, given the same usage rate. Hard worker, durable, decent size, gets tough yards, doesn't fumble, what stuck out to me was how good he was in pass protection. Not really an outlier in anything, but pass pro,...

I'll take the 4.39 game-breaking speed. If you're going to be a run-first first team, best to be able to actually generate chunk plays out of 60% of your offensive snaps.

Re: Hoosiers
God fucking hope they don’t draft Milroe or a WR in round fucking one. JFC. I could live with Hampton in round one if they added Martinez in the 7th Hampton Martinez Warren is a pretty good unit. Possibly mismatch unit potential with some better offensive schemes I'd take a combination of Henderson...

Re: Hoosiers
It's early, and players could fall and others could rise and push a guy down, but I'm thinking a WR in round one is looking like it would probably end up being a pretty big reach for a 2nd-tier player at 21, at least as things stand right now. Same with RB, though I've got a sinking feeling it's goi...

I realize I have gone full scorched earth. More scorched earth than the signed/unsigned FA's post? Because that one was pretty singe-y, as well. Just wondering what level of entertainment I'm in for this afternoon. My Steeler fandom is threatening to go the way of my Catholicism and Pirates fandom ...

I can’t spew out specific details of Steelers’ playoff wins and losses the way a lot of you poasters, but I do have vivid clarity of that playoff FEELING. Re: THIS stat
On todays ESPN morning show, Dan orlovsky is campaigning for Steelers to play fields on 1st down, the notion being they have no chance of winning without better 1st down performance. Dunno about THAT but how about this?? During the Steelers 4 game slide their average to go on 3rd down was 8.3 yards...

Re: THIS stat
This stretch has given us a symphony of awful stats, but that one's right up there. Close as numbers can come to communicating the emotion of watching, and that emotion was hopelessness. Instead of playing Fields, they could also try not force feeding their slow, blind RB every first down (and most ...

Re: Schlereth Calls for Fields to Start
I don't think Taylen Green (and only watched a few games this year, so take it with a grain) this season was where where Ward was last season, in terms of what I saw on the field, so I'm not sure it's an apples to apples comparison, but I do think Green could benefit from another year of PT at the c...

Never said that The Steelers are gonna draft Milroe when he drops though. Guaranteed. Totally fits their recent history. Unfortunately I sure hope not. I'd rather take a flyer on Taylen Green in 4th or 5th. If Starks isn't there for them in the 1st. Hoping they draft Emeka Egbuka I think (?) Green ...

Our player development has sucked for a looong time, at almost every position. WR was a nice exception up until a few years ago, and they've had decent results at olb recently, but everything else? Gotta think this might be the reason Colbert always reached for need in early rounds. If you don't ge...

Re: Do it again draft. Again. Except this time for real. Again
If Malaki Starks drops to mid-teens (highly unlikely) they need to trade up as they did with Troy P. I wish they would have traded up last draft to snag Bowers. He's a Beast. I agree But I increasingly think they won’t 1) They need a RB to do the ground and pound. They won’t get outta 1st without a...

Re: Jets Formally Ask For Permission To Interview Arthur Smith
Maybe they're talking to Smith as a threat to get Aaron Rodgers to retire? "Hey A-ron, if you don't retire, we're going to take our offense back to the stone age and make your job impossible. Your choice." This was actually my first thought when I read they requested the interview. Then I remembere...
