Ideally, a bigger upgrade than that would be nice.

Re: Long time, no see…
Absolutely true. And a very close second is Jack Lambert. No current Steeler on defense is in the top 5. Always good to see ya, MJG! Does bring up an interesting question of where do you slot Watt among Steeler OLB greats? I like Heyward a lot (warrior, and a Buckeye), but he's well outside top ten...

No current Steeler is the team’s GOAT on defense. That’s Joe Greene. Watch the 1974 AFC Championship Game. Absolutely true. And a very close second is Jack Lambert. Re: Running Backs 2025
The Steelers are going to continue to run between guards The Steelers are going to continue to be very predictable The Steelers are going to continue running the ball far more than they should The Steelers are going to continue being exactly who we’ve all seen them be continually for many years run...

Re: Running Backs 2025
It's an apt comparison. I think he may be a little bit shiftier than WP, but it's the hole in his straight RB game compared to Gibbs and Barkley. He's been a find a crease and jet type back. I'd hope the receiving end could improve with more and varied usage. He's looked good on the occasional wheel...

Re: Quarterbacks 2025
Cam Ward is better than a franchise QB and he's in this draft. I would totally trade this year's first, next year's first, and TJ Watt for Cam Ward. The downside of this would, of course, be having to watch your guy get "coached" into Kenny Pickett. Goes without saying. But IF they are going to win...

Re: Running Backs 2025
I can safely say I've watched every snap of Henderson's Buckeye career, and I think he's got enough juice between the tackles or in tight outside zones where you wouldn't need to use him as a situational player on sweeps/tosses and passes, and he pass protects at a high level and with genuine enthus...

Re: Running Backs 2025
Agree that two are probably needed. Disagree on the need to draft one R1 (though you're right on the mental capacity of the brass, so they'll probably do it), and wholeheartedly disagree on the "it has to be a slightly more athletic fatback in order to work in Pittsburgh" philosophy. It's what we do...

Re: Running Backs 2025
Henderson in the 2nd, Monangai in the 4th. There's your young, B1G version of Detroit's backfield. If it's got to be a run first team, than there HAS to be a threat of real chunk plays out of the backfield, or it's just gonna bog down and lead to punts and (maybe) FGs. I'd say re-sign Warren or add ...

That hit and empty netter against Finland didn't look like somebody who's hanging em up anytime soon. Maybe only a couple more years of playing like Sid, but could probably do 1991 Bryan Trottier (with an occasional dash of Ronnie Francis) till he's 50 if he wanted to.

RIP Langer
All of Pittsburgh's traditional sports voices have passed. Growing up in Central PA, where the revolution was not usually televised, Cope and Lange on the radio were huge parts of my fandom. Those unique voices made Pittsburgh sports easy to love. Thanks for all the calls, and all the great memories...

Jayden "we have Tee Higgins at home" Higgins
Pretty heavy SEC bias in this one, but I like replenishing the defense with some young, hungry, inexpensive blood. Tomlin would hate sunsetting all the vets, which makes me like it more.

Re: Alfredo Roberts & Kevin Faulkner Countdown
Tecmo Super Bowl back in the day had a feature (this will show age) where you could select your own Pro Bowl teams, and a fun option was always selecting the crappiest players with the dumbest sounding names and playing the Loser Bowl. Alfredo Roberts caught a lot of passes (and dropped a lot more) ...

I've hated overrated Tregolas Lawrence since he came out of HS. If they did this, I'd definitely go immediately into Steeler fan retirement for the duration. Just keep Fields. He spanked his ass in the CFP, has comparable career stats, and doesn't look like a frickin elf.

Born in Shadyside Hospital, moved to STD's stomping grounds when very young, but Steelers (and all Pittsburgh pro sports) fandom was a family thing, passed down from Dad and his side of the family, who've had season tickets from Forbes Field till present day. I'd be willing to bet the family pass do...

And that's with a couple of genuinely high scoring games thrown into the average for the first time in a few years. Awful stat to see. I only did the last 5 games on purpose. Those high scoring games were outliers. If you start telling everyone that they had 14.2 I think it is accurate sentiment, b...

The question you should ask is how many OLDER generation Steeler fans are becoming Eagles fans? The next one, Mason Graham fell to 21, changed my math a little. Speaking of things that won't happen.
Hurt a little bit hitting the draft button, but I closed my eyes and thought of the Natty.

With a trade-down. Starting to identify some guys in some rounds that I like (other than Buckeyes, which are likeable in every round 8-) ), and possibly coming around to the idea that Dart might be this year's version of Bo Nix (guy I didn't get a great vibe about who turned out to be a pretty servi...

Re: Quick Mock Out of Super Bowl Week Boredom
Hurts had his tour at Oklahoma where, at least in a slightly gimmicky offensive scheme in a league without D, he could check enough of the passing boxes to be an NFL QB over the course of a season of games. Milroe is definitely another prospect The Leader of Men could fall in love with and pick, tho...

Milroe would be a fun combination of of the Najee (Bama guy overdrafted) and Kenny (QB nobody wants) meltdowns. A judicious melding of catastrophe, if you will.
