For those scoring at home...

LeBeau's last game against Brady, 55 points
Rex Ryans last game against Brady, 40 points
Keith Butler's first game against Brady 28 points.

The defense is a work in progress, many young players finding their way, making mistakes, learning on the job, and that includes a first time defensive coordinator.

Today's effort was much better and if anything shows that the game is not too big for our new DC or young players. Things will get better and better but you have to be patient.

Yea, after reading this site for the last week I was sure our D was shit and Buffalo would show us what a real D looks like this week against Shady and Co.

Kaepernick is the inconsistent sort we can and have had success against.

'D' will get better, particularly the Front 7. Secondary still has a lot of work to do. Really need Tez and Mitchell to figure their shit out and then the secondary might just be good enough for the Front 7 to mostly hide.

Afuckingmen!

I believe with a little luck in the health department, by mid season this D could be legit.

Was great to see them hurry the QB, dig in down in the red zone. Both parts of those things were fucking great to watch.

We can do that to Foles, too.

Suddenly that Rams game isn't quite as scary.

Oh no...it's scary. We want it to be scary...need it to be scary. Remember how scary the 49ers game was?

Not sure if anyone has pointed it out elsewhere on the site, but players and Charlie Batch gave huge props after the game to coaching staff for A. correcting the communication issues and B. simplifying the roles of a few players (Shazier was alluded to be one of those guys).

That is, plain and simple, what we've been clamoring for our coaches to do. They deserve credit for doing it.

The bolded is something I especially will give kudos to.

I know in this day and age of people wanting to believe coaches make such a huge difference, it's important to remember that many of the best coaches keep things simple so their players' natural talents can actually come out because they're not spending a huge amount of time thinking about what they have to do.

And "simple" doesn't necessarily mean "predictable".

it was " simplifying it" for them so they can "go to the football".
