34 OLB Contracts
I saw that the Chiefs and Justin Houston are supposedly far apart on a contract.
What's the going rate for a 1st tier guy like Justin Houston?

Worilds franchise tag.

I saw it mentioned a few spots, and that chart makes clear that Worilds actually got the transition tag. PIT at least saved themselves $1.7M doing that.
I'd say Kruger is the floor at $8.1M/yr, but then look at the extensions Dumervil (2013) and Suggs signed (2014) for just over $5M/yr. I'm guessing PIT tagged Worilds hoping to sign him something closer to those deals and fearing a FA bidding war something north of Kruger. Even Woodley got a 2-yr deal for $12M
So maybe tough to nail down "fair value". I'd say the 3 guys above put it at $5-$6M (for guys who aren't established Tier1 players, like Worilds), but you can't assume the other teams are rational and won't drive the price well above fair value.
If not for Woodley's injury history and attitude(?), I think maybe you would have not tagged Worilds and then kept Woodely if the FA price for Worilds got too high (picking up an R3 comp in the process).

All those guys are proven, I should've written Worilds "show me consistency" tag...I used wrong term, regardless. My post was showing the average of the top paid OLB's, which was the OP's question, however, & in no universe do I pay JW top 5 money based on 1/3rd season of good play.

I wouldn't either. I hoped/expected they'd sign him to a deal average $6-$7M. I think Kruger's deal would have been fair. I suspect Worilds wants more - and if he gets double digit sacks this year (which I think is likely) he might very well be looking at a 5/50M deal. Of course, they can tag him again next year for $11.7M
Of course, that will probably still invite offers PIT will only be able to choose to match. So we might be talking franchise tag, but my rough calculation is that's still going to be around $11.7M.

I'd throw out Kruger-- he's way overpaid-- outlier

That's fair. But I'm sure Worilds and his agent anchored to that. With the transition tag, nothing prevented other teams from making an offer to Worilds (and I never heard of any interest at all). But from his perspective, if your downside is $5-$6M/yr after this season, then why not pocket the $9.7M and see if your value goes up?
Could be a tough decision for PIT after this year. A variety of scenarios where you won't tag him again. But wouldn't be the end of the world as they've re-signed guys like that in the past, anyway.

I'm assuming Worilds is gone after this season - he'll either blow up and want $10M per as Kodiak suggests or he'll have a pretty average season and still want Krueger money.
btw - looking at that list it's amazing to me that Suggs doesn't hold out. he's paid peanuts.

Yeah, I was shocked by both his and Dumervil's contracts.
I guess Worilds accepted his transition tender quick, so he was off the market before anyone could come calling.
