I am looking forward to seeing Spence in live action.

If he can step out on the field and play against the number ones of the other team and hold up, that is a MAJOR accomplishment that we all should celebrate.

Before you even scream bias...it's not about the player but the fact it's a number 1 pick...why hasn't any reporter ask Tomlin the nature of Shaz's injury? My understanding from Twittter commentary is his leg is still wrapped and he has a limp...at this point that sounds like something more the a "boo boo". I rarely take interest in injuries so perhaps I'm expecting to much from the media but don't you think the media should have pushed for clarification...is it a bruise, or if it is wait 7-10 days for the swelling to subside so the can get accurate imaging?

It's preseason.

If this was before Week 1, you can bet your boots reporters would be asking about it.

Yeah, I know it's more urgent during the season. But it is a number 1 pick...and to the best of my knowledge is if he still iced down that means the swelling is still serious...which means there is a good chance they don't know the severity of the injury for sure. And considering number 1 pick to start without seeing a single pro snap...I would think simple due diligence would seek clarification on "boo boo".

Looking at the latest reports, I'm not seeing anything that says his knee is still iced and wrapped as of today (or even yesterday).

Do you have links to show that? Last news feed I see where it mentions his knee was iced down was early Tuesday.

I don't remember the twitter feed I read it on. But it was in response to a claim it wasn't wrapped and iced. A quick search and this-

NOTES: Shazier has his right knee wrapped, but his injury is still called “a boo boo” by Mike Tomlin, so Shazier (boo boo), Steve McLendon (concussion) and Jarvis Jones (groin) continued to miss practice on Wednesday. Lance Moore, Ramon Foster and Marcus Gilbert were off.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Thursday he’s not sure if several injured players will be ready for Saturday’s preseason road opener against the New York Giants.
That includes Ryan Shazier, the team’s No. 1 pick from Ohio State, who has missed the past two practices with a knee injury. http://www.timesonline.com/sports/steel ... f6878.html

Not sure to the validity of this column but as you can read above its being labeled a knee injury. If you'll notice the update was made yesterday the 7th.

Almost every NFL team brings two punters to training camp if for no other reason than to keep the starter fresh. But free agent Brad Wing has taken every rep in the first two weeks of camp and will be the only punter for the Steelers’ first preseason game against the New York Giants Saturday night because veteran Adam Podlesh remains away from the team with an excused absence for a family matter. http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/stee ... z39oJf333q

Could be the end of the "competition" for Punter. Wing seems to have it all but wrapped up. Unfortunate for Podlesh having to deal with such a serious issue but it may have given Wing all the advantage. Unless Wing absolutely shanks every Punt in tomorrows game he's the unquestioned leader in the Punter competition. JMO

I didn't doubt it was a knee injury.

I was trying to find a report that said his knee was still iced as of yesterday, which would lend support to the idea the injury was a bit more than a "boo boo".

Zivco provided one.

Before I do.

77 I basically approach these type of threads as yours....You do all the work. I am being100% sincere. I looked at the 83 pages and I thought to myself...Damn this is getting long. What I was thinking we would do.

After Fury Starts the game thread for Pre Season game 1

We would start another thread Training camp II and just start over

Anyone who doesn't respect your wishes and authority I will handle...Unless its Fury or HN in that case you're fucked

Onto that obese monstrosity Mark Madden I will share the quick version.

Back in the summer in the late 80's Mark Madden was a ref at Penn Hills Deck Hockey facility. He was a complete utter douche bag. Madden had to be in his mid to late 20's he threw a teenager(13-14 year old kid) out of a hockey game for verbal abuse. The kid waited in the parking lot for Mr Madden. Madden came out and this kid just wailed on Madden...Madden went to his back and turtled up the kid pound him and gave him the boots. Madden started whimpering the kid told him lick my shoe and I will stop...Madden did...Kid had dog shit on bottom of his shoe.

Thanks for sharing! Funny Shit there (pun intended)

FWIW, I didn't see the games last night, but I heard Marvin Lewis say that Dennard is the best rookie CB he's ever seen. Have also read that Kyle Fuller has been phenomenal in camp with the Bears too. Really hope Shazier is a stud because it would especially suck to miss out in a draft that might have some great CBs especially given Taylor is on his last legs and as of right now Cortez Allen isn't signed for next season.

TB if one were to read the media outside of PS land, the exact same thing could be said about Shazier. Jarvis Jones was getting dry humped ove rhis performance in camp by national media last season. You have to remember every camp has the eternal optimism meter pegged right now. UDFAs have starting potential, rookies could be superstars etc etc. Tis the season. The reality as we both know is nowhere close to this. Hell there is a headline on ESPN in NFL section touting Bryant.

BTW Marvin Lewis has been blessed with a loaded roster and is still yet to win a playoff game. He is touting his own rookie...yeh.

My belief is that Shazier has a low level sprain of his knee. They will definitely treat such an injury and he should be OK in 1 week. I don't think he plays against the Giants.
