Time to bench Ebron and play McDonald more
Time to bench Ebron and play McDonald more
Ebron has been getting worse every week, drops and more drops. Throw to McDonald he doesn't drop that many.
I agree. I would have a few plays in the game plan designed to get Ebron down the field but otherwise I'm playing Vanimal. He can run those 2 yard curls just as well as Ebron and is a much better blocker.

I think this happened. I think Ebron was benched pretty much most of 4th quarter

Probably not going to be as hard to get under the cap next year as some think...

We could have had nearly any TE in the league for the price of Vance’s and Ebron’s salaries together! Let that sink in!

I couldn't believe Ebron missed block on 4th and goal. He ran too far wide on the motion and completely whiffed on Young. All he had do was basically be a speed bump and Snell scores (the line got some push for once). His run blocking is killing so many plays right now. I get that he is a weapon at times. But, it's not worth it if the run game is being completely destroyed. Use him on 3rd downs but get Vance in there more at this point.

I’m not talking about the “last drive”. I’m talking about in between then and the beginning of the fourth quarter.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 3:01 amHe was featured on the last drive.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 2:42 amI think this happened. I’d imagine Claypool and him were on the field for what amounted to a prayer.

Just rewatched. Claypool and Ebron are in for their normal allotment. Maybe you just don’t remember how little we hade the ball. WTF had the ball for most of the third. And then we had one drive in the fourth, then the shit drive before the 17 second drive.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 3:06 amI’m not talking about the “last drive”. Getting called to the sideline after a drop is pretty good motivation to catch the damn ball when and if you get back on the field.
Having a head coach that does not punish this, allows it to continue.
Having a QB that is ok with the drops....or does not get in these guys faces....
Is adding to Tomlins complacency.
Only thing i saw, drop after drop, the last two weeks has been that player running back to the huddle or line of scrimmage for the next play.
The disappearance of Vance from the offense is inexcusable. The lack of snaps for Washington, who has the biggest and strongest hands of the bunch, is a disservice to the offense.

Im more pissed off at how sloppy, dysfunctional, predictable and ineffective our offense has become...
Than i am over the loss.
Not even close.

MacFarland?
The two guys we went to in highly critacal points of the game.

Ebron seems on a collision course with destiny to single handedly lose a playoff game via dropped ball. Hands of Stone

The problem is in Randy’s Stupid Ass Clown Show Offense, Vance only has 1.5 seconds to get open and turn upfield. Vance is a solid TE but I’d rather have him running down the seam.
The seam? Do we even know what a seam route is?
Ebron has been bad lately, but he’s also made some nice catches. Actually, before the second and third quarters, he was on pace for a pretty nice game, but then he dropped about 3 really easy passes and the rest is history.
My point is, in this offense, Vance isn’t going to do shit in the pass game because our pass game is atrocious. He doesn’t get open like Ebron does, even if he is more sure-handed.
If Vance is coming in to sure up the run game, I’m all for it, but Ebron is a favorite target of Ben’s and I’d expect our offense to actually get worse if he gets replaced.
31 drops, folks. That is worst in the league by I think 8 or 9 drops. The ball comes out fast as fuck so you better be ready for it. That is part of it. Guys like Ebron and JJSS are barely coming out of their routes and one of Ben’s fastballs is in their chest.
Randy Fitchner football, baby!!! Wahooooooo!!! Coming in hotter than a fart in a frying pan!!!

If Ebron spent half as much time focusing/working on his blocking assignments and catching the ball before he turns his head upfield as he does running his mouth and 'joking around' he'd be, at least, somewhat useful as an NFL TE.
Like I've said before, Ebron is Nuke LaLoosh, but sadly isn't a rookie anymore; he's been Nuke for about seven years. Stupid is as stupid does.

Limas Sweed met Charles Shackelford and had a baby named Eric Ebron. Who drops passes amphibiously.

Ya this. McDonald sucks too.My point is, in this offense, Vance isn’t going to do shit in the pass game because our pass game is atrocious. He doesn’t get open like Ebron does, even if he is more sure-handed.
He is slower than shit and I’m pretty sure I caught him whiffing some blocks yesterday as well.
So many of our guys playing fucking matador it’s hard to tell.
And let’s stop fooling ourselves. This offense is a direct result of a couple of things IMO.
1) team knows their backup QBs are complete garbage.
2) team knows Ben at his age can’t take the hits.
So we came out with (1) a quick release offense that eliminates as many hits on Ben as possible and (2) an offense that Mya Rudolph & Ducky Hodges would be able to continue to operate given their pop-gun arms should Ben go down.
They had better open this shit up fast because you can’t just flip a switch and right now the timing and execution is way off in terms of intermediate & deep game.
We will find it I’m sure. I’m also pretty sure it’ll be too little too late.
Hope I’m wrong.
