It was just a rumor and we'll see what happens, but someone posted Dobbs was turning down interviews because he wanted the PIT job. I guess the only positive spin you can put on this is after talking to Dobbs and some others, they pegged this guy as the real mastermind behind IND drafting.
The negative spin would be that Tomlin is pushing for more control, as Cowher and many other long-tenured coaches have, and Dobbs said "no thanks".

Translation: Boss wanted too much money.Seems a bit odd given they already interviewed that guy's boss.
Not sure I buy into that. Tomlin is one of the highest paid coaches in the league, and I would guess Colbert was one of the higher paid GM's. I also don't think they paid peanuts to Lebeau, Munchak or even Haley.

I hate to be that guy…but I’m gonna be that guy. It’s Dodds…Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds.
Dobbs is the pretend QB on the Steelers practice squad.

Yes. I love the song
It fits.
“Mike, what do you think would have been a better choice of the clock in that situation or then play call?”
Tomlin: “Papa sing gotta jibboo, Papa sing gotta jibboo,
Papa sing gotta jibboo, Gotta jibboo and you keep on drinking too!”
“We Do Not Care”........"I expect guys to make routine plays routinely"

Colts have had the most consistently good drafts in the last 4-5 years. I will take some of the secret sauce please. The other top drafting team is the Saints but they have not talked to their Asst GM.Kodiak. wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 5:11 pmOr unhappy that they're trawling shallow ponds.Professor Half Wit wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 5:03 pmFigured we would be happy rather than perplexed at a no stones unturned approach.

Im just rolling with the commentary that Steelers assistant coaches are among the lowest paid in the league.
I don’t take time looking up such things.
And we haven’t had a “Lebeau” type coordinator for a while.
Maybe Dunce figures he is paying his superstar (Jibbs) top $$ and since Jobbs does it all he can go cheap on guys like Canada.
Hard to make the case our current assistants are getting top dollar.
And to me, a brand new GM that has never held the position before shouldn’t come in at the level as Colbert was at now should he?
Or she.
Or them/they depending on which pronoun they wish to be called by.
Pronouns super important. And passing the Ron test.
If you say so, sweetheart.

Colts have drafted well, that team lost Andrew Luck and that is keeping them from going over the top.jebrick wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 5:54 pmColts have had the most consistently good drafts in the last 4-5 years. Dodd's also worked with John Schneider with the Seahawks for a few years, been around some good drafts with them too.
I am sold on that dude, he is ready to take over a team.....

Rather have Adams
I think it holds for GM. If the Steelers are such a disaster, why would someone want to come here to GM?

Deuce isn't actually interviewing these guys for GM - he's bringing them in trying to work out a deal to trade Tomlin!

Looks like they're trying to wait until there isn't anyone available to fill their needs.
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."
The only thing I can figure on Morocco Brown( colts scouting director) is that he was referred to a lot by Dodds. Perhaps Dodds does not have a scouting background and the Rooney's/Colbert are leaning that the GM must have some scouting.

When you've become a bottom feeder, you have to wait until all the other jobs are filled and the leftovers are desperate.
