Tomlin is an albatross around the neck of this franchise
Can’t stand seeing his fucking face anymore
Absolute torture to be a fan of this team and know the Rooney’s are too fucking gutless to cut him loose

Trade value at its peak meet owner having an awakening. Tomlin is from VA. Washington needs a coach upgrade and are dumb enough to make a trade. Mike would probably like to be closer to home. Make it happen!
I don't doubt it. The sports media world is in lockstep with the MSM.

The national media is totally clueless, ESPN most of all.
Tomlin's best days are far behind him. The past 13 year stretch (2011 season through this 2023 season) has been the worst 13 year span for the Steelers since the merger when we're looking at results, not just W/L records.
In the period of 2011-2023, the Steelers managed to make 1 AFCC game, no Super Bowls (these numbers could change depending on the outcome of this season, but I strongly doubt the Steelers make the AFCC game this year, let alone the Super Bowl). During that span, the Steelers' playoff appearances were mostly embarrassing and included getting Tebowed in 2011, getting Bortled in 2017, and getting Bakered in 2020 (with the Browns head coach home with COVID)
In the period of 1998-2010, the Steelers made 5 AFCC games and 3 Super Bowls, winning 2.
In the period of 1985-1997, the Steelers made 3 AFCC games and 1 Super Bowl
In the period of 1972-1984, the Steelers made 7 AFCC games and 4 Super Bowls, winning 4.
Slice and dice it however you want, but this has been a remarkably unsuccessful 13 year span by modern Steelers standards. But Tomlin should be the coach of the year every year because he can turn a 6-10 team into an 8-8 team!
What else can we name after Coach Mike Tomlin?
Tomlin Field.
The Coach Mike Tomlin Expressway
Coach Mike Tomlin Bridge
Mike Tomlin Avenue
Coach Mike Tomlin at Star Lake Amphitheatre
The Coach Mike Tomlin Walkway
Tomlin River
Ft. Tomlin Bridge
A series of parks and libraries named after Coach.
The Tomlin District.
Primanti's, renamed Tomlin's
Rename The Point to Tomlin Square
We could really spruce up Pittsburgh, if you will.

We should name the PA lottery after him except Nick Perry is more deserving.

I am the OP and there was no sarcasm! I really do think he is to blame for the injuries! Shit training, trainer, attrition football, attrition football, did I mention attrition football.
I still think he is hall of fame coach…and when I say fire him I do mean it…but golden parachute firing, out to pasture or line up a studio gig for him and pass it off as I am spending time with family and moving on to something I have always wanted to try firing.
Rich Eisen put his two cents in again, and said Steelers fans who want Tomlin gone are insane.
Most of the arguments are asinine. He's #4 among active coaches in wins. He's of course the second longest tenured coach. He has a top 30 winning percentage all time! Top 10 if you just look at guys who coach 170+ games (how many guys coach that many games?). NHALS. Other teams would line up to hire him in droves! Fucking let them.
He's not even as successful as his two predecessors. The arguments for Tomlin have always been weak. In the structure of the Steelers organization, a lot of coaches could succeed on par with Tomlin. The argument for not replacing him is you don't trust your own processes anymore (or something worse - you don't like the optics of firing a black guy who has been successful).
This is an organization that forced out Chuck Noll. They mulled over firing Cowher, and after 2004 it was Art II himself who basically demanded a Super Bowl win and said the time for it was now. That was a 15-1 season with a rookie QB that ended in the AFCCG to a team that had already won two Super Bowls in the previous three seasons.
You could do worse than Tomlin. Maybe the next head coach doesn't coach the team for a decade and a half, but maybe that guy provides the spark needed right now or has the right plan for a rebuild. A guy who lasts 7 seasons but brings in a championship that Tomlin wouldn't have would be worth it.
But the truth is that the time to ditch Tomlin was when they already had a HOF QB whose career they were essentially wasting. But very few fans were willing to buy the argument then, let alone Art II.

Also, Mike Tomlin isn't Andy Reid. He adds very little from a schematic standpoint. He's never innovated on that front. I mean, he could bring his brand of attrition football elsewhere and make a team competitive. He could coach up a defense to be above average. But in today's NFL, it's mostly about offense and even if you gave this guy Patrick Mahomes, I don't trust him to develop that QB and really make use of him. I could go into the reasons why all day, and part of it is ego.
I doubt his ability to hire a top tier offensive coordinator because he will never give up the control necessary to attract that sort of candidate unless forced to by ownership. And this problem is only getting worse with time. Tomlin's fingerprints are all over the offense, and it's a far cry from even the days of Todd Haley when I think Haley was genuinely allowed to implement his ideas. What we saw on Sundays was not the Matt Canada offense even from college. It was this pathetic mutilated version of what Canada ran before with all the creativity removed.
People refuse to blame him for the offense too much because he's a defensive guy, but Tomlin himself admits he has ultimate veto power over every play call and anyone who doesn't think he's using it and who doesn't think the offense is geared around making his defense look good is fooling themselves.
Bill Cowher admitted after the 2005 playoff run that he succeeded because he finally got out of his coordinator's way and let them do their thing in the post-season. That's one of those forgotten tidbits. Yea, finally having a QB helped, but he let Lebeau call his own game against the Colts instead of meddling and telling him to tone things down lest it lead to mistakes.
I don't think Tomlin's ego would ever allow for that at this point in his career. He's the one who has gotten fat and happy - not the fans. Unlike Cowher, he has no actual fear of losing his job. He faces no real criticism from the national media. Christ almighty, this is a guy who usurped play calling responsibilities from a HOF defensive coordinator and then got Tebow'ed. And he has only assumed more power since then.
His coordinators are there to serve as scapegoats. In return, they get a degree of loyalty from Tomlin and are allowed to coach through the length of their contracts (until Canada - when either ownership and/or a player mutiny forced his hand).
I could go on all day on this subject. Obviously, to quote the great Mike Tomlin.

Most of the people that criticize us for wanting Tomlin gone are fans of other teams. They'd be happy if we stayed mediocre forever. Nobody wants the SB contender Steelers back except us. Even some of Tomlin's biggest supporter former players are calling for his head now. Most people that actually want the Steelers to win are catching up with those of us that have known he was a fraud for over a decade. Will it be enough? Rooney was finally embarrassed enough to dump a coordinator. Maybe he'll actually let Khan get us a draft pick or two for Tomlin.CKSteeler wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 2:04 amRich Eisen put his two cents in again, and said Steelers fans who want Tomlin gone are insane.

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

The national sports media as well as most of Burgh sports folks are under Tomlin Stockholm Syndrome
They love being captured by some “traits” that Tomlin is king
They are loving their status as abused by smoke and mirrors
Like most media, totally embedded as 1000% propaganda as the sports media is all under wing with same overt lies
People should start calling out the sports talking heads and challenge them to break free from Tomlin
We are a 2-10 team in reality, not 7-5
Can someone out on the north side, light a bag of dogshit in Art’s doorstep with a notebook of Tomlin statistics since 2011
As I said. People need to stop showing up in the seats

Send Tomlin to Carolina for their first. Take the best QB in the draft and another tackle with our first. Take a center in the 2nd and pray they hire the right coach. Franchise back on track.

Carolina will not hire a defensive coach. It will be offensive
So the options are slim to get the right guys
Need Tomlin to just walk away now
