Joe Flacco better than any of our QBs?
40 year old Flacco gets off the couch and wins a NFL game...how can we not have someone better than that on the roster?

Why couldn't he have done that for the Jets, in last year's season finale against the Dolphins, which would have put Steelers into the playoffs???

Plot twist! Maybe we do.TimmayLake wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 3:44 pm40 year old Flacco gets off the couch and wins a NFL game...how can we not have someone better than that on the roster?
On a sliding South Park scale, left is “Kenny Had His Hoodie Cinched Too Tightly on Day 1” and on the right is “They Killed Kenny”, they being the coaches, and in the middle is a little of both. I put my slider at 85% to the right. They killed Kenny!
I have had to sort through a bunch of distractions… Ben’s legs, Ben’s arm, Ben’s age, OC, Mitch, Kenny, various injuries….not saying Kenny ends up being All Pro or HOF, but they fucking killed Kenny.
Steve Young always said no matter what happens an FQB will rise up and become the man. This Steelers’ coaching staff will put that hypothesis to the test!
The thing I found unbelievable today when playing with playoff scenarios is the Browns have a shot at the number one seed still.

If Flacco continues to ball out and they don’t lose any more RBs, you could make a convincing argument they deserve the 1 seed. This is especially true with the Ravens losing Kyle Hamilton for the season.

Took at the quality difference between Jets and Browns O lines for your answer. Flacco can make plays IF he has the time.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 4:04 pmWhy couldn't he have done that for the Jets, in last year's season finale against the Dolphins, which would have put Steelers into the playoffs???
They also have an NFL playbook on offense vs the Steeler offense which I would say at best is the Temple offense. At worst it is high school level.

Yeah, I think the Dobbs thing is over. Yesterday:
10-23, 63 yards, 5 sacks for -47
5 scrambles, 21 yards
33 drop backs, 37 net yards.
Absolutely brutal.
Has to be one of the worst zero interception QB performances of all time.

Flacco is never really done until the NFL changes PI rules on underthrown moonballs, an oddly effective weapon.

Yes the Browns are legit. They don't lose Chubb and Watson and they could be legit Super Bowl contenders.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 5:57 pmIf Flacco continues to ball out and they don’t lose any more RBs, you could make a convincing argument they deserve the 1 seed. Which shows just how bad we are...the Browns, Ravens, and Bengals have all had significant injuries and we STILL trail two of them and might be trailing Cincy in a couple of weeks.
Another damning indictment of this crappy team Mike Tomlin has had a hand in building and "coaching".

Not only is our playbook high school level, our players don't understand it.
When I look at film breakdowns of our plays, I am stunned how many times it looks as if no one out there understands how the play I'm looking at is supposed to be run.

There are probably 50 QB's better than any of our QB's. Our 3rd no other team wanted. Our 2nd no other team would have signed except for NFL minimum as a 3rd string - maybe? Our 1st would have been drafted somewhere in the 3rd round or 4th round. He had 1 good season in college as a overage senior without the strongest of arms or the quickest of legs. He would have been signed as a backup QB by another NFL team despite being coveted by the Steelers as the successor to Ben.

Former Steelers thriving highlights serious coaching problem in PittsburghTimmayLake wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 3:44 pm40 year old Flacco gets off the couch and wins a NFL game...how can we not have someone better than that on the roster?
Several former Steelers are having career years after leaving Pittsburgh
By Jarrett Bailey on December 11, 2023 2:00 pm
Coaching has been a point of criticism in Pittsburgh for quite sometime now. More so this season, though, with the lack of ability to move the ball, score points, and prevent big plays defensively.
The offense is easy to point at and criticize. The offensive line continues to struggle with inconsistencies, and their incompetent center, Mason Cole, has been a huge liability all season. Dan Moore has also looked incredibly replaceable throughout the season, and the team obviously found him to be just that, which is why they drafted Broderick Jones.
This becomes even more infuriating when you see the season that Kevin Dotson is having with the Los Angeles Rams. The Steelers traded their former fourth-round pick to Los Angeles in late-August, as well as their 2024 fifth and sixth-round picks, in exchange for the Rams’ fourth and fifth-round picks.
Since then, Dotson has gone from someone who was going to be a backup guard for Pittsburgh to one of the best guards in the NFL this season. He’s PFF’s fourth-highest grading run blocker on the season, which has helped the likes of Kyren Williams rack up the seventh-most rushing yards in the league. Dotson also ranks above current Steelers guard Isaac Seumalo in pass blocking.
Dotson is far from the only former Steeler to be shining this season. Hell, he isn’t the only former Steeler currently with the Rams having a bounce-back season. Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon was one of the worst cornerbacks in football last season. This year, he’s tied for sixth in passes broken up and has three interceptions.
Staying out west, Robert Spillane is a defensive captain with the Las Vegas Raiders and is second amongst linebackers with three interceptions. Plus, he’s been one of the best run defenders in the NFL this season.
All of these guys who were either middling rotational pieces, or players who were fading into obscurity, are now have renaissance seasons away from Pittsburgh. Is it any coincidence that as soon as Levi Wallace becomes the predominant No. 2, the same spot Witherspoon held last season, he all of a sudden looks awful? At the end of the day, this mainly falls on coaching at all levels of the staff. And more so, it falls on Mike Tomlin for keeping the worst coaching staff in football employed for this long.
Meanwhile, Jibbs has kept that Robinson kid on our roster for 3 years now but as soon as we had injuries at the position had to pull guys off the street to play linebacker.
Does this staff develop anyone?
Mind numbing.

Another “special teams ace”. This team is loaded with special teams aces.
If you are Ben...it makes you think, no? Could he come riding in one more time to save the Steelers' season?
I've been told numerous times that Canada was the problem for Pickett. Well, Ben did better than Pickett with Canada so if that is true, maybe Ben has some magic left?

The short answer is yes, Joe Flacco is better than anything we have. As are Lamar, Burrow and Watson.
