Lions are rolling.

Gotta be happy for Lions fans with the way they are playing. Would be nice if we had a HC opening and were waiting to interview their OC.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

True…sad, but true.
Yep. We haven't be a real SB contender in over a decade and they don't care.
Not true. With competent coaching, we had a SB contender as recently as 2018.

The Steelers were a top-5 team at worst from 2014-2018. Coaching is the reason they didn't do much of anything.
Well duh. That's the reason they haven't been a real contender in over a decade.

If San Fran can keep pressuring Purdy they will win this game.

I think Brock threw that behind the receiver.

The Rams-Lions trade a few years ago was a classic win-win.

"Goff is drowning his detractors in jizz... again."

That's what happens when you hire an OC from the Peter North coaching tree.

True in a sense, but I don't think it does justice to the situation to phrase things that way. To say the Steelers haven't been Super Bowl contenders for over a decade is to give credence to Smashmouth's "Tomlin overperformed with bad talent" bullshit. It hides Tomlin's responsibility for the failures. I think it's better to say that the Steelers were Super Bowl contenders for most of the 2010s, but didn't do much of anything due mostly to Tomlin's fuck-ups and shortcomings.

14-18 were the Haley years. Even he couldn't overcome Tomlin's stupidity though.

I get what you're saying but he's a proven failure in the playoffs. When the defense started to get smashed regularly with a "defensive HC", it was the beginning of the end. Throw in the fact that he's been squeezing the life out of the offense for years and we're fucked until the current Rooney is gone. Hopefully the next one actually cares about SBs.

That pic would be perfect with both being Tomlin.

Goff is throwing to WTFO dudes and we just so rarely see that. Can't be the QB, either.

How crazy would it be to have traded Goff, because he wasn't good enough to win a SB, for a guy in Stafford who most didn't think much better.....and both guys end up winning a SB?

Plus Gibbs, Montgomery, Williams, LaPorta. Lots of good weapons in the Lions offense.
