With the first Preseason game here ?
I was just curious if the Steelers will be looking at any of the remaining FA? I know Tenn just made a move.

Who out there in free agency has the potential to be better than a player's potential that's currently on the roster?
Not technically a free agent, BUT they're looking at Aiyuk, right?
Who else out there can you say without a doubt, is better than who we have on the roster & competing right now??? And especially with injury/health & the big one, financial considerations?

Metchie at a good price would be interesting. Not sure the team will ever add another Canadian receiver ever again after he last one.
Talk about buried on the Houston depth chart... Jadon Janke can play. Great blocker, also.

The Texan's depth chart is a thing of beauty. Wow have they assembled a nice squad.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 12:16 amTell you who I want

Though, you still gotta pick the right horses -- and they have.
If it can't be the Steelers, I'm rooting for Houston. Probably relatively obvious reasons, but yeah, they put together an impressive team with a quickness.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 4:52 pmThe Texan's depth chart is a thing of beauty. If the eggs we've got in the Aiyuk basket break, then it'd be a good menu to poach off of.

I would have them on the list of teams in the postseason the Steelers are very unlikely to beat.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 4:52 pmThe Texan's depth chart is a thing of beauty. Wow have they assembled a nice squad.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 12:16 amTell you who I want

Except AB made actually backed up his craziness with great play.
Diggs is overrated as fuck and when Stroud is spreading the ball around, he's gonna get pissed.

Christ Mitch Trubisky beat them in overtime with a healthy Burrow after being horrible for 4 quarters.
Burrow is intimidated by Watt and the Steelers defense. He doesn't play the same against the Steelers defense as he does against other teams.
Besides, THAT DUDE has become an injury waiting to happen.

Does your list of unlikelies, and probables, stay the same if the Aiyuk trade goes through without the Steelers losing a starter (note I'm not including D.Moore as a starter, so he could go)?
Only teams I take issue with are Cincy and Baltimore. Steelers are able to slug it out with them/drag them into the mud and generally come away with the Win.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 8:56 pmI would have them on the list of teams in the postseason the Steelers are very unlikely to beat.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 4:52 pmThe Texan's depth chart is a thing of beauty. Essentially any team outside of the division is a bad matchup for the Steelers.

I sorta feel like the Steelers don’t know how to exploit their offensive talent. That makes me wonder how much it will move the needle. Regardless, if it doesn’t preclude adding a QB prospect next year, I hope they get Aiyuk so there will be absolutely no excuses.jmacinwbp wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 9:12 pmbradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 8:56 pmI would have them on the list of teams in the postseason the Steelers are very unlikely to beat.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 4:52 pm

Even with a big name offensive addition, the Steelers are still built on defense and it will be the defense that determines the trajectory of the team in 2024. That is my bet.

Still have to play offense, and if the team could not at least be middle of the pack in PPG with two top level WRs, a top 60 pick TE, a 1st round RB + superstud back up RB, a probable HOF'er at QB, and lots of talent along the OL, well that is not too encouraging.

At least all the players you listed have an OC with some level of credentials and success in the NFL this season. The last 5 years that could not be said. All the good numbers in Randyland and Canada's O were plays that BR7 made as opposed to being drawn up or coached up.Burgh Nike wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 6:37 pmStill have to play offense, and if the team could not at least be middle of the pack in PPG with two top level WRs, a top 60 pick TE, a 1st round RB + superstud back up RB, a probable HOF'er at QB, and lots of talent along the OL, well that is not too encouraging.
