Steelers at the Bye
Few things in the way of a preamble...
I hate the fuckin bye week...totally unnecessary. We get into our rhythms and routines, Steelers every week...and then they're not.
Coming off the bye, after the election, Steelers travel to Washington dc. I'm reminded of the Steelers playing in the national 's capital on the eve of the 08 election, historically won by Barack Obama. Steelers won that night, with steeler nation taking over the redskins stadium a well a the dc subway system. Let's hope for a repeat on both fronts.
A for Steelers going forward.
Steelers will win 10 or 11 games, make the playoffs, perhaps win the AFC Norf. They'll split with both baltimore and cinci, hopefully Cleveland. Other games...will beat chiefs in KC on Xmas day, prob lose gonn in Philly.
Oh...and still can't believe that Russell Wilson is a pittsburgh Steeler!! Steelers don't make those moves.9
I'm really really really wanting to light Mike Tomlin...and I'm kinda doing so. He's looking good with the Wilson decision, and his players obv love him. Let's hope he's not afflicted by game day dumfuckedness.
Steelers stand pat with their WR room. I think they like who they have, and those guys are stepping up. Plus...Roman wilson is hopefully back.
All for now...loving this season

I think we discussed this some time in the past, remember that year their were 2 bye weeks, early 90's? I hate it as well but am also enjoying this season so far too. Was not expecting Wilson or Fields to play as well as they have. 2nd half should be fun.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 12:32 amFew things in the way of a preamble...

I want to like Tomlin, but I've seen this movie before. When the competition gets increasingly more difficult (and it's gonna be a real gauntlet) the more dumb Tomlin becomes.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 12:32 am

But as it stands now, yes Tomlin has my respect as he's pushed all the right buttons. But the entire story of 2024 has yet to be written.

Love the enthusiasm, Swiss! I also believe we'll win the Norf and perhaps even make some noise in the playoffs this season! Lots of reasons for optimism, though I know many will want to be cautious for the moment. I like how our run game is developing and that makes PA so much more effective for Russ, and he's doing a great job so far as well. Tomlin is who he is, but like you I'm seeing some better decisions most of the time. I thought his time had passed a couple years ago, but now I may reconsider. Let's see how it unfolds.
I also hate the Bye weeks. Messes with the season, IMO.
Let's GO!

I’m enjoying this season but with a lot of hesitation of what’s to come if we make the playoffs. I do this O getting better and better which bodes very well for us.
Usually I hate the bye week but not this year. Leaving for Chicago Sunday to Wednesday and won’t miss a game nor any need to worry about ditching the boss to catch the Steelers game.

Maybe worth noting as we talk about an increase in competition: The Steelers D will be a massive step up from anything the Commanders have seen thus far. The Giants and Bears are the two best Defenses they've seen this season, and they have a combined one TD (the Hail Mary pass) in those games.
