Angelichio is an interesting one. He's done a fabulous job with Viking TEs, but what intrigues me more is that he's O'Connell's passing game coordinator. Please sign me up for some of those play designs.
Rolodex interview

He was McCarthy’s TE coach 2016-2018

At 53 hardly a young stud on the rise

But yes if Pisano learned a few things from the McVay system that will serve HIM well in his career

MAYBE McCarthy will value such input rather than simply have his OC run over to Vinny’s for his lunchtime pie.

There’s a reason stud OC’s a rare commodity

McCarthy and NHALS not in the running for what I’m looking for in coaching TALENT

Art has his own agenda I’m not going to ever get on board with

Art the lessors head is expanding

He needs one playoff win before his regime ends.

Art the Lessor is the least successful Rooney of the last 60 years... that’s a hell of a legacy.

You know the Rooney clan is giving Art and his entire family major shit every holiday for what he’s done to the franchise.
he tried to redefine success as NHALS but in the end no one was really buying. his real problem is ...

what did arians says about risk ?
and what have they done since around the time he left ? and what are they still not doing

You know what would be hilarious is if McCarthy hires all these extra coaches, andthen it's going to be "cheap [racist] Rooney" wouldn't give Tomlin the staff he needed but McCarthy got everything he wanted....

Looks like Angelichio is going to be the hire. Too bad, this team doesn't need an angel, it needs Jesus.

Staff filling out rapidly. Gotta get ready for that draft.
The Steelers made additions to their coaching staff, naming Brian Angelichio offensive coordinator, Danny Crossman special teams coordinator, Joe Whitt Jr. assistant head coach/secondary, Domata Peko defensive line coach and Pat Reilly defensive quality control coach.

So far, it looks like we've assembled the fattest and ugliest coaching staff in the history of the league.

At first glance you think maybe Art is opening up his wallet but id bet he's spending significantly less on coaching salaries this year than he has in the last decade.

Certainly a positive.

I’m not rooting for losses this year. I want Buck Cluck to win a playoff game his 1st year here. That’ll certainly get under Jibba’s skin.

Don't think I've seen this here yet

The Steelers are set to hire Montana State defensive coordinator Shawn Howe as a coach to their defensive staff, according to Slim Kimmel of MTN Sports. His role will be coaching outside linebackers coach and defensive ends.

https://share.google/IUkxD71o6yNDMOaeX

Not a bad gig with our group. A big test will be if he can slow TJ's age decline. Still, Herbig and Highsmith would be fun to work with if he can keep Alex off the injury list.

Mid 40s and an FCS National Championship in his resume could make him a nice addition. Interesting that this is a hire that seems to have no previous McCarthy connection.

Any chance Weidl could talk Jeff Stoutland to come on board as run game coordinator/OL guru?

The big question is, can he get TJ Watt to expand his pass rushing moves beyond his current array of two?

Wish we'd have hired Slim Kimmel instead.

Though he sounds like he wouldn't have fit our current coaching vibe.

PEKO!

The Pittsburgh Steelers have hired former 15-year NFL veteran defensive tackle Domata Peko as their new defensive line coach for the 2026 season. Peko, a former Bengals standout (2006-2016), joins the staff under new head coach Mike McCarthy after previously coaching the defensive line at the University of Colorado.

Key Details Regarding Domata Peko and the Steelers:
Role: Defensive Line Coach.

Background: 15-season NFL playing career (Bengals, Broncos, Ravens, Cardinals).

Recent Coaching Experience: Coached the defensive line at Colorado under Deion Sanders (2025) and served as a defensive assistant for the Dallas Cowboys (2024).

Replaces: Replaces long-time defensive line coach Karl Dunbar.
Context: As a former Bengals standout who played 11 seasons in Cincinnati, Peko brings significant AFC North experience to Pittsburgh's defense.

Ah You (outside linebackers), Scott McCurley (inside linebackers), Shawn Howe (defensive assistant) and Pat Reilly (defensive assistant).

Rounded out to 26 coaches, assistants and strength and conditioning personnel.

OK......26 vs. 22 last year.

NFL average is 24. So, once again, Tomlin was NOT handcuffed by a cheap owner unwilling to give him the staff he needed.

This seems like a very encouraging scenario could end up salvaging some players careers.
Steelers have four assistant coaches on staff now who have coached offensive line in the NFL and their Chief of Staff is the son of one of the all-time great OL coaches. https://x.com/MarkKaboly/status/2022091130440131018

Yeah, but one of those guys was playing football for North Allegheny High while his dad coached Steeler OL (for part of a season  )
