Steelers Texans Game Thread
Re: Steelers Texans Game Thread
Here's the audio of that quote I pointed out when it happened. Just unbelievable:

Matt Canada told CBS Crew he doesn’t believe his offense is built to comeback from down big. You can’t make this stuff up. Watch.

Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

I think you are wrong on this one and will see it in the 22. This was the play’s, and receiver’s fault in my opinion. Ball was in the air before Hayward was even open. Robinson sat down on the route during a double team instead of going to the near pylon. Do receivers sit on goal line routes, when it is designed to go to the pylon? They should have known the route was hot at that point. Every route is hot on every play in this shitty offense with Pat F. not chipping.Steelperch wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 8:27 pmToday he has an uncovered Heyward in the end zone and decided to throw it out of bounds near a double teamed WR instead.K_C_ wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 8:23 pmPurdy plays on what is likely the best team in the NFl. The important thing to note is that guys like Stroud and Purdy haven’t played a full season either. They clearly have shown they have “it” and their teams complete confidence. We saw the same from Ben very early on in his rookie year as well. We’ve seen absolutely nothing of the type from Pickett, and he’s already 25 years old, not 21 like Stroud. Chances he ever develops into a top half of the league starter is dwindling quickly to zero, especially if he’s out for the rest of this year. The longer they hold onto him because he’s a nice guy and studies hard and went to Pitt, the longer the rebuild will take.
I mean, Jesus Christ.

Stroud is one helluva prospect, but Holy Shit, he had PHENOMENAL protection today, his RB's ran all over the Steelers front 7 and the play calling and preparation on offense ABSOLUTELY SCHOOLED the Steelers defense.
Pickett is forced to run an offense that does....just does what it does. Each week, the same thing.

I might be the first draft head in the world to mention Nacua as a prospect (like three years ago) and Korey Karbowsky was his biggest fan. Luckily, one of us is a lock to be working for an NFL team soon.gojira5150 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 8:25 pmThat dude is ballin. He's all the talk out here in Rams country. If Colbert and Tomlin would have just handed the reins to you on day 3 of the draft every year we'd be a hell of a lot better off than where we are now.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 10:19 pmI might be the first draft head in the world to mention Nacua as a prospect (like three years ago) and Korey Karbowsky was his biggest fan. Watch the 22. Heyward was not wide open when the ball was released. Zero time again. Also why did Robinson sit down on that route and Kenny threw to the near pylon? Heyward was wide open when the ball hit the pylon. Big difference.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 9:26 pmHeyward was wide open in the endzone. Great play design.
Kenny throws it 8 feet out of bounds.
And you assclowns are still wondering if he’s worth a shit?
He isn’t.

I don’t care if Kenny would be great in San Francisco or KC, because those dudes aren’t walking through the door anytime soon. We need a guy who can make THIS staff and this OL and this surrounding cast and this mentality about offense work. I can’t see Kenny being that kind of transcendent player.

Anyway, we got DOMINATED on both sides of the ball, by one of the worst teams in the league.
More than a few on this board thought this team was a contender. Well, there's a 100% correlation with people that also thought Kenny PIckett was an NFL QB....
