Well then we have a real problem.
Imagine for a second if we had drafted Purdy in R7....By most objective measures, Pickett was the 35th best QB in the league last year, and as we all know there are only 32 teams....

If we had drafted Purdy, this board would have already given him a triple-gold jacket.
Brock Purdy only has the best o-line in football, a top 3 TE, excellent to damn near great WR’s (Aiyuk is still wide open and the game is over 😂 😆) and possibly the best RB in the entire NFL.

His coach is everything ours isn’t, too.

Outside of that, Purdy doesn’t have a lot to work with.

San Fran better be patient with him.

🤡
SF’s RT is going to have nightmares after today’s game. Even with a RB or TE chipping almost every pass play Watt still had three sacks. Watt abused that asshole.

I take it back.

That was a sloppy sloppy route run by Johnson. And a bad pass by Pickett.

There was room for a sideline back shoulder throw.
No way man. The CB had DJ blanketed and had backshoulder position. Maybe, maybe there was a chance over the top but KP threw it in the worst possible place, right at the defender and away from DJ
I'll look at the replay- maybe you are right and there was room over the top.

But Johnson, I thought, ran a lazy route...but Kenny did indeed throw a bad pass.

I still think Kenny was worse in the second half than he was in the first, even if he got more stats. The Niners completely undid him,

That's happened before (against the Bills and Fins last year)...that doesn't bode well for him being "the guy".

DJ slipped trying to adjust to a ball thrown way behind him.

Purdy has a way better offense, but he also looks like a better QB than Kenny.
DJ shit the bed on his foot work. It was probably behind but he should have been able to knock the pass down. AB would have caught, Pickens would have contested it. DJ shits the bed!

DJ looked like he was on better weed than I am right now.

😝

Just as he’s about to go up and get what should have been an easy catch, wouldn’t ya know it, DJ slipped.

Who woulda thunk it possible??

Looking at the o line today not sure I altogether blame him.
He held the ball numerous times when he had guys open. That's not on the OL.

Several other times he scrambled prematurely. That's not on the OL.

I didn't think Purdy had significantly better protection. He was just that much better, and made throws on time as was designed.
Purdy is the real deal. After arguably the worst draft pick/trade in NFL history they struck gold with Purdy. He’s smart, accurate and plays like he’s been in the league for 10 years.

Insane.
It’s easy when you know the answers to the test.

Shannahan’s offesne is often regarded as being very QB friendly.

Meanwhile, we have Jibbs and Canada running our O.

Purdy has certainly delivered but I suspect he’d look bad playing for us.

Pickett has the best group of WRs we’ve had since Brown and Bryant in their prime. This is possibly the best set of TEs in Steelers history. RBs are average, Oline is too. If Pickett was any good they score at least 20 today.

Canada is an abomination and Tomlin is negligent for running it back with him. Rooney too for allowing it. Canada is back because he’s endorsed by Kenny and because they don’t want to change the offense on the second year QB. It’s a recipe for disaster. Let’s see if they blow up the offensive staff after this year or double down on mediocrity.

Well, we’ll always have preseason 2023.
That made me laugh!

Please make sure to call out anyone on the board that criticizes how Tomlin prepared the team in the preseason…it so clearly doesn’t mean shit because you can’t replicate the violence and speed of the regular season that wrecks all the timing. So anyone complaining that Tomlin should have played starters more or less is just talking out of both sides of the pie hole.

Like running a fast break drill with no defenders…we look damn good! We just have inferior athletes and will be in 12 on 11 situations against certain teams. Ohhhh the humanity of it all!

The sad part about these games is I have the exact same physiological response in my body as the top stress events in my life. My neck is killing me right now from the stress…on par with when things go bad at work with multiple vacancies and you wonder how the work will get done….family emergencies…almost the same stress level. I guess it makes sense because the Steelers are supposed to cause enjoyment which breaks the stress bridge…but today the stress army kept rolling right into my back muscles and neck muscles! Naproxen and alcohol are the Airborne division!

I hope to hell this was nerves and palpable city expectations that caused everyone to press their performances and everyone tried to be MVP and they can quickly reset and get back to their roles in the “collective”!

Give me Highsmith’s stats, who San Fran ran right at?

Didn’t McCaffrey go like 60+ yards on Highsmith’s side?

TJ had some splash plays for sure. If he doesn’t get them we probably lose by 40.

Dude……the d-line got carved up. Our ILB’ers were terrible. Levi Wallace should be cut and everybody they tried at SS looked like a high schooler.

TJ Watt is wonderful.

Everyone else was shit.

I hear you but Highsmith was playing against a top 5, maybe 3 LT.

D line without Cam worrying me a lot more than Highsmith.

I don't think Purdy has a better pocket or less pressure. He's just playing 1000X better than Kenny, and SF knows how to scheme guys open and call plays.

Purdy has the poise of a 10 year starter.

It’s legit and it’s impressive. And the offensive design and balance is league-best or tied for league-best.

Diontae Johnson isn’t good. He’ll be gone after this year. Watch. He’s a pussy.

Darnell Washington has proven nothing. This was his first game and he did almost nothing.

The offensive line was DESTROYED today. Absolutely dismantled. Chuks especially had me laughing out loud.

I get it. Ben had nothing to work with and Kenny has everything. Honest to God, you should go into comedy!

The ass defense was so soft and Wallace had a terrible game. But I thought our DL couldn’t stop the run at alll. Our Punter is again horrible and the ol got no push. But thought Chucks was horrible and why no scheme for Washington in the red zone

Nice catch by the dude in sweats on the sideline.
That guy is probably the only one that's run the right route all day. I'm guessing.
The throw was perhaps the most accurate of the day, too.

I think if late period Ben was out there today this game would have been a lot closer.

And that drive and TD throw may have been a turning point in KPs career trajectory.

Like 30-14 or something.
Just imagine how much you would’ve bitched if Ben threw those horrendous passes that Kenny did today.
