Re: SF Board Draft 2019: Picks Only: 4.121 TEN - FromPittWL

Post by bradshaw2ben » Sun Mar 17, 2019 8:41 pm

Alright, let's have some fun. Jesse James left for greener pa$tures and took his decent blocker, steady receiver talents with him. The team likes Jake McGee, don't know that we'd want to count on Xavier Grimble for an extended period of time, and Vance Macdonald has shown great stuff but hasn't always been able to stay on the field. So, adding a TE seems like a good idea––question is: is primarily a blocking guy who can serve as the #2/#3 or is it an upside move TE who can do some blocking but who can be a receiving threat like we've never had alongside Vance nor Heath? I decided I'd rather have a playmaker, especially if Vance were to go down again.

This player helped his fledgling FCS program turn around from 2-9 to this year's 8-2, with an unbelievable season of 85 catches, 1319 yards, & 13TDs in just 9 games played. Although he's a former basketball guy, it's really his speed that sets him apart. Not the fastest first step, but his third/fourth step effortlessly has a burst that defeats coverage. He's a big target with a catch radius so big it should be called a radii: 6'8" 240 with a 36" arms and 84" wingspan. We're going to give it a shot.

With the 122nd pick in the SteelerFury Board draft, it's a B2B Directional State special... the Pittsburgh Steelers select:

The Bears were a little jealous of the Bulls and White Sox organizations, so they just had to draft this guy when they had the chance. They select:

The Philadelphia Eagles almost missed their pick slot because they went to bed early. Thankfully, they wrote down their password on a post-it note and sent the pick via that newfangled mobile phone somehow.

We had our eyes on Wes Hills for months ahead of the draft... but got sniped. So. To be frank, there's only one other back we like as a fit for the Steelers. And to be honest, he's nicknamed Juice, known for his patient and slightly upright running style, was once arrested for a marijuana charge, and was suspended for 4 games last year... how could he not be a Steeler???

But here's the real story: he came back with a vengeance after the suspension, if a perfect fit for the Steeler RB rotation, since he's a crafty short-yardage back and has a homerun/TD scoring touch.

With the 142nd pick in the 2019 SF Board Draft, The Pittsburgh Steelers select:

The Browns first selection here in round 5 was named defensive player of the year in a conference that doesn't play defense. Aggressive, instinctive player who lives in the opponents' backfield with 26% of his solo tackles going for loss.

The real Browns' GM seemingly isn't concerned about character. As fake Browns' GM, I'm doing my best to draft high character, die hard football players, with outstanding leadership qualities. This kid represented the heart and soul of Combover Holgorsen’s squad.“It’s not just his stats,” Holgorsen said, “He’s more important in the locker room. More important in practice. That’s as influential a football player as I’ve been around.” Same size as Devin Bush, but this kid can actually play and most importantly isn't scUM.

With the 144th pick in the 2019 SteelerFury draft, the Cleveland Browns select David Long, LB, WVU

Image

Browns Draft:
1.) Christian Wilkins DT Clemson (Traded to Jack's Giants for OBJ)
2.) Jonathan Abram S Mississippi St
3.) Kaleb McGary OT Washington
4.) Corey Ballentine CB Washburn
5.) David Long LB WVU
Nick Markakis on Astros: "Every guy over there needs a beating."
