I think he's gotta coach his ass off this week. Can't blame not winning a playoff game on injuries because you missed getting in.

Not really downside but perhaps that it perpetuates the king of bullshit and dumbfuckedness could be construed as not that positive.

They might completely eat shit next week. But no matter what, making the playoffs is purely a good thing.

Sure. There are a lot of emotionally stunted fans on here. That will happen any time they don't win the Super Bowl. Thankfully, as of today, they still got a shot at it. Reason for a small celebration.

The success rate of these bombs on third and short is very low.

A success once in a blue moon doesn't justify continuing to do it.

Tunch and Batch disagree with you.

They say it makes sense from the standpoint of the coverage on 3rd and short. They also say it works for this offense and we will continue to do it.

They were just talking about it on post game.

Hit one this week, and hit one last week. And at least a few others I can remember this year.

Just under 40% on throws 30-40 yards in the air. 45% or so on throws over 40 yards in the air. Average 3 attempts over 30+ a game.

So successful A LITTLE more often than once in a blue moon.

The 3rd and short bombs make the DB's have to think twice about jumping routes on other 3rd downs. Creates matchup advantages later. They hit enough of them that it's worth it.

Well they must love punting then.

You'd think with the weapons they have they could figure out being successful with intermediate passing and moving the chains.

But they never build off that...they just keep throwing bombs on third and short.

why? It worked ridiculously well, except that the QB got a little too excited. The RB was open for a TD and the WR was WFO for a TD. I would argue that it should be a staple of what we do, because it's a PA fake where the QB's eyes never leave down field. It's a staple for Manning and it could be for Ben, as well.

It's just like Ben audibilizing to a run or from run to an AB toss-- except it delays the decision until after the snap.

That was a good route for DHB on that play. The one I don't want to see for him is the go route down the sideline like we tried once this year on 3rd and short.

Our #2 wr is not good enough to win 4 ps games with nothing but underneath stuff like we got vs Broncos.

No man, go back and look at every 3rd down. They mostly go for the sticks and occasionally go long to change it up. The long ones just stick in your memory more.
