The JAX playoff loss in '07 was the canary in the coal mine

The Tebow loss should have been the end

The JAX playoff loss to Bortles should have led to termination and deportation

You mean the one where Jibbs had a gimpy Ben try to run for a first down behind a backup LT to n 3rd & 6 for the ballgame despite the fact he was slinging it well in the 4th quarter?

We all let it slide as rookie HC mistake back then. If only we knew then that Jibbs (a) really is that much of an offensive dullard and (b) would only get worse rather than better.

Yep that one, tho Arians took most of the heat at the time.

To me that wasn't the most egregious.
It was his insistence to go for 2 early in the game after getting a holding penalty on their first try for 2. Just kick the XP at that point.

Wasn’t that the game they had 3 penalties in a row, on the XP and still went for 2, from about the 22? (2 false starts and a holding penalty, iirc)

You may be right.
I thought it was a straight up holding penalty.

You may be right. I’m not recalling the specific game/opponent that involved the 3 penalty extra point situation

But it definitely happened

That is referred to as “playin to winz babaaaay” aka a “Jibba Special”.

Located on page 2 of 4 in his “Coaching for Dummies” handbook.

Meant to post on this last night… Third and fuckin 6 game. This led to be resurrecting the famous line of Brendan Sullivan, Oliver North attorney… Why am I a pot plant? The stealer application is that Mike Tomlin is not a bothered plant. And had every opportunity to weigh in on that play call, considering that there was a stoppage of play directly preceding that play call. Fortunately, Tom won the Super Bowl the following year that was the first huge issue of many i was going to have with Coach T.

All the hallmarks of Tomlin playoff game, including big lead given up early.
