Samuels is my guy this year. I hope he gets involved a lot on offense.

I hope the guys reporting these players having a good camp are not the same ones that said "Jerome Bettis is in the best shape of his career" the last five years of his career.

Who wouldn't want an article you could just change a couple of dates on and add an anecdote to every summer right before vacation. I'll bet I know one guy who was definitely sad when Bussy retired.

If I had to say he was a poor man's (insert NE player), then I think you have to go Danny Woodside or Danny Amendola. That is Switz absolute ceiling, which is okay if you are the 4th/5th WR/return man.

Switzer isn't a pimple on Amendola's ass.

...and even Woodhead, who isn't anything special, is far and away the better player when compared to Switzer.

Well, he's nearly sucking Ben's dick which sure seems like a winning formula.

Especially if Switz looks as shitty when the real bullets start flying as he did last season.

I don't get this. Switz didn't look shitty last year. He looked like a perfectly fine possession receiver. He got first downs, had a nice catch percentage, did his job. Not a world beat. Not garbage. Dude even made some tough catches over the middle of the field. He looked better than Eli has in years.

Doesn't mean Switz is irreplaceable or even good -- just that he is a role player and filled that role fine last year. Its a new year!

Rogers only played a few games last season coming off a shredded knee.

Before that, he was unquestionably better than Switzer.

Aim higher, good lord.

Josh Dobbs to start the preseason opener Friday night. Mason Rudolph plays after him. No Ben as expected.

But Ben did invite him to his house for dinner. Never did that with AB. He's here to stay.

Well duh. You didn't know he worked for Pittsburgh Paints? It's no coincidence the store he works at was the US leader in damaged inventory. They finally took him off of fork lift duty last year.

I get that killing Switzer is a bit here, i'm with Zeke5153 ... he's fine for a fifth wideout. Solid hands and seems like a tough kid.
That said, Switzer isn't in the same universe as Welker, who is a borderline HoFer. If he achieved Amendola-like lofty heights, i'd take it.

Scunge, I know it's hard to admit...but some Steelers aren't all that good...or as good as you think.

Again, Welker and Edelman have done things Switzer will never do. It's all good.

The Switzinator will probably never notch the kind of numbers that Welker did in his heyday, but he won't have an in his prime Brady throwing him the ball either. That is the type of player that he is though, and probably the closest professional player comparison that could be made.

Eli has no balls as a return man. He turns my stomach how often he would not field a punt, or call for a fair catch, but instead let the ball bounce and roll for 15, 20 yards, losing precious field position.

And as a WR, he averaged 6.6 yards a catch last season, I don't care that it was only in 3 games, so what?? He also, in just those 3 games, did not waste any time fumbling the ball, having one fumble. In fact that is a bit of an issue for him. For a WR who does not really play all that much, and for a punt returner who does not really catch many punts, he sure does fumble a lot doesn't he??

Rogers has 4 fumbles in the regular season as a WR, 1 fumble in the post season, for 5 fumbles. Then with just 26 punt returns he has managed to fumble an additional 3 times. That is just incredible to me. Yes, Switz has fumbled some in the return game, he himself has 3 fumbles, but he also has a combined 113 career punt/kick returns.

Which is better?? A return man who fumbles once every 9 returns or a return man who fumbles once every 38th return??

People make fun of Switzer carrying the ball, the handoffs to him, they tried that with Rogers once in his 3 game return, and he had 1 carry for -4 yards.

Many think Switz is hot garbage, but then what does that make Eli Rogers?? Somebody who averages less yards per catch, fumbles more and can't even take a handoff and get positive yardage??? Switz fumbles once every 28th time he touches the ball as a return man/Wr, Rogers once for every 16th touch.

Don't lump me in with Lynch, I don't think Switz is the second coming of Wes Welker, but he is not that bad and he sure is a whole lot better than Eli "is it time to fumble?" Rogers.

Free safety Sean Davis returned to practice and worked with the first-team defense after missing the past three weeks with a finger injury. Davis was one of many injured players that returned to practice after an extended layoff.

Cornerback Artie Burns, receivers Donte Moncrief and Diontae Johnson, offensive linemen Al Villanueva and Ramon Foster and linebacker Vince Williams also returned to practice after missing time last week due to injuries. https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/ste ... 1908130158

The picture of James Washington (who's not a 6 foot tall player) standing next to Switz was actually surprising. Had no idea Switz was THAT tiny. Makes Kyler Murray look like Hines Ward.
