Re: Reg. Season # 15, Steelers vs. Broncos Game Comments
New England isn't going to tank to avoid playing a team that has never beaten Tom Brady on his own field or ever in the playoffs.

He played a few snaps but overall yeppers.
It's a Festivus miracle!

When he was in, I think it was because Den had essentially 4 wide. I don't think he played ahead of Boykin, maybe Cockrell or wasn't Gay banged up for a minute?

I'll rewatch and check.
I know he was essentially benched...just remembered him being in for more than just a few snaps.
And although the entire defense sucked ass in the first half, I hope the coaching staff is finally, finally, FINALLY ready to stop giving him chances because "he's such a good practice guy who takes coaching well".
The secondary is so much better with Boykin in it.

True and if Brock was having his way with that secondary for one half of football, imagine what Brady does for the whole game. Anyone think Brady would have wasted that Ben INT opportunity?

Probably not but I don't think the windows Ben would be throwing into against the Pats D will be nearly as small as what he had to do vs Denver. The Broncos trot out 3 guys that are as good or better than the number 1 guy on the Pats.
In the past month, PIT has put up 30, 33 and 34 against 3 of the best defenses in the league. And they still left points on the field in each game.

2 of those on the road too.
3 straight wins against division leaders averaging 37 a game.
The most impressive output might be the loss in Seattle given how they have dominated every other team they've faced lately.
With a little luck and a few takeaways in D this team can win any game.

couldn't find my way to the forum last night
want to unload my (unoriginal) thoughts here:
- i will challenge anyone on this forum for biggest Blake hater, but i feel like he's been scapegoated a bit for yesterday's game. don't want to see him on the field over Boykin, but thought he gave a decent effort.
- Ben's late INT was disappointingly avoidable, very reminiscent of the Bengals game earlier this season. thank God it didn't cost us. that said, it was almost worth it for Ben's reaction, which is EXACTLY what I want to see from my franchise QB in such a situation. that was the passion of a man who is disgusted by losing. i hope it takes us to another SB.
- last week i said i sensed another 'floodgates opening' moment for our defense and i'm glad that we managed to survive it. i just wish i could share the collective confidence that this will be a turning point for that unit. sadly, if we open next week's game against the Ravens by being methodically picked apart by yet another backup QB, i will be far from surprised.
- Antonio Brown is the best receiver ever. Bryant continues to amaze with his natural ability and disappoint with his shitty fucking hands. Wheaton's reemergence is one of the best things to happen to this team this season; he's become the rock solid possession receiver we've lacked since the halcyon days of Jerricho Cotchery.
- how is it possible for DeAngelo Williams to average 1.9 yards a carry and STILL come out looking like a vital playmaker? that dude scraps for every single inch. he's the hardest working man in show business, at least in my book. he's the incredibly rare type of player i will actually find it hard to root against if we ever have to face him in the future; unlike, say, Emmanuel Sanders. fuck that guy for holding out on us. i mean, i know it's easy when the defense doesn't bother to cover you, but his raw talent is undeniable. too bad he completely failed to utilize it in four years with this team.
- Boswell calmly walking away from the scrum that ensued after his first FG actually made me laugh out loud. i feel like his reaction to a 16 car pile up or house fire would be much the same.

Especially since New England losing doesn't keep us out of the playoffs. We control our own destiny.
