Re: Claypool dealt to the bears
It's the Bears 2nd.
Wow, this is a great trade.
3 top 40 picks.

In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

I’d like to see us trade down from a high first down to a lower 1st plus a 2nd or 3rd

So with as bad as Steelers will be and maybe bears, this could mean 3 picks in top 40. You trade back some more that maybe turns into something like 5 picks in top 55 or something

Glad we got a second rounder.
The bigger issue however is that this team seems incapable of molding talent.
Claypool has the physical tools.
Pretty soon Pickens will be begging to be traded if this suck continues.
CHANGE THE DAMN COACHES!!!
New RB coach, new WR coach, new OC.
None of them having ever spent time in college or back in the hood with Jibbs. New blood.

It's being reported that it's the Ravens' 2nd rounder
edit: conflicting info on which 2nd rounder was dealt
if it is the Bear's that a huge win, if it's the Raven's - still good, but likely at the end of the round.

Is Pickett the QB moving beyond this season? I have serious doubts and if there is any doubt and PS land in top 5 or even top 3 picks do they take a QB?rooneytunes wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 6:03 pmSo with as bad as Steelers will be and maybe bears, this could mean 3 picks in top 40. If they don't they can likely trade back and get nice haul.

PFT saying it’s the Bears #2. That’s tremendous. We currently hold the 3rd overall pick and the Bears have the 6th. There is also only 31 1st round picks next year so we’d be holding #3, #34 and #37 overall.

Either way, I'm still pulling for the Steelers to beat the Ravens in Week 17. No matter what!

That’s INSANE. He was a 2nd rounder and should have been a 4th!

Why? Kahn has been in the organization for years. Weidk is just a flunky. Shades and A2 will still be the loudest voices in the room. Nothing will change…Steelers Way!steelmann58 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 6:05 pmwow this is great a 2nd rounder who can be very high.

Its a shame really - Claypool could have been a monster. He has all the tools. But we had no choice at this point.
I'd argue this could be a better trade for the Bears.
But hey, its an extra second round pick for our Fucktard HC to put his mits all over.

After Claypool's angry tirade on the sideline, I wrote in the game thread that he wouldn't play another game in a Steelers uniform.

Also being reported now that Claypool was becoming a major distraction behind the scenes. Sure the players have seen the blueprint of getting out of pittsburgh a few times now

Sources: The #Steelers aren’t done. They are finalizing a trade for #Commanders CB Will Jackson III, some help for their defense.
Whats more likely.......
The surgery to replace one of his two left feet,
with one donors right foot,
goes bad,
and he can only run out patterns to his left..............
Or he has a few 80 catch, 1000 yards seasons with Fields.

At least they acted quick and did not wait after he was benched. ......and have to settle for a 4th-6th in the offseasonGreeksteel wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 6:21 pmAlso being reported now that Claypool was becoming a major distraction behind the scenes. Good luck Claypuddle.
You showed flashes of brilliance and a lot of lack of effort.

Well the Bears only throw it about 15-20 times a game and Fields isn't accurate, so hope he enjoys run blocking.

Better not be for more than a 7th.
He is 30,
has played 6 years,
has played in 16 games on a season once.
has 5 career INTs
Injured now?
3rd on depth chart?....because of injury?
Tomlin wanted this guy out of college, before Cincy took him right before us.........
and then we panicked and took the nice story, Artie Burns.
So Tomlin got his guy.

The Steelers and Commanders are expected to swap late-round future picks in the trade for cornerback William Jackson III, per

Cannot believe CHI gave up a likely high R2 for Claypool, in a year they likely don't make playoffs, anyway. Seems kind of dumb, like maybe a desperate coach losing patience with Fields....
Best news of the season so far.

Well, if the light comes on for Claypool (I'm not saying it's going to, but IF) and the new Bears head coach can get Claypool motivated on a consistent basis, the Bears seriously might have just acquired a star for Fields.
Claypool definitely has it in him to be a star, he just hasn't shown the required toughness or maturity yet, but if he does, Claypool could be a perennial Pro Bowler. Easily.

I don't know anything about the Bears coaching staff, but it seems to me, Claypool needs structure and discipline; both of which would appear to be lacking in the Steelers locker roomK_C_ wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 6:50 pmWell, if the light comes on for Claypool (I'm not saying it's going to, but IF) and the new Bears head coach can get Claypool motivated on a consistent basis, the Bears seriously might have just acquired a star for Fields.

...or more likely a smart coach that wants to give his young qb every chance to succeed (before he fails).
But hey, not every coach is lucky enough to have Josh Allen playing qb
