If Rooney had balls (he doesn’t)
He’d pump up Mike Tomlin in public, talk about what a great leader of men he is, then shop him in the off-season. Some poverty franchise would love to give a round 1 pick for Tomlin. Publicly just say it’s time and the franchise wants to shift to a more offensive philosophy. Get the hottest shot young OC you can find as the next HC and let him draft the next QB.
That's my dread scenario. To someone like Washington for their 1st and we get the QB of the future and another OT. Grab a stud center in the 2nd and we're off to the races.
I assume you meant dream scenario. That would be amazing.
Kahn pulls off trading Tomlin for picks then I want Kahn enshrined in Canton the following Monday.

Haha yeah. Dream. Dread is them bringing back the entire coaching staff which is what will probably happen.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Get used to 1 playoff win every 4-5 years.
Accompanied by a generational curb stomping exit….

Let Tomlin off the hook of his spiraling team and resume.
Pitch him that he can be moved for a fresh start rather than getting pushed out.

Tomlin at the helm of the DC team.
That is a match made in heaven. A perfect match.

A staple of a Jibbs coaches team. We hear this every year.
Maybe by year 22 Nibbs will keep his guys focused when facing a 2 win team in week 13.
And “got too high”??
You scored 16 points and won because Burrow was out.

If not for inheriting Ben, Lebeau and a legendary defense Tomlin is Marvin Lewis at best. His time has passed. I’d like to see a 4th Steelers Head coach in my lifetime. And an offensive mind at that!

Ideal scenario. Trade Tomlin for a first round pick
Top Head Coach Candidates
Ben Johnson
Bobby Slowick
Package picks to move up for Drake Maye
None of this will happen. I’m firmly in the camp that it’s time to move on from Tomlin and that’s the only way to get a modern NFL offense.

Just one first?
You’re talking first ballot HOF HC
Two firsts at a minimum

It’ll take a stupid franchise like the Redskins to pull off a trade like this. They’ll have a top 10 pick. That’s enough for me.

To rid ourselves of Tomlin I’d give him to the Redskins (an offensive name) for free tickets to the Smithsonian for two people.

But you have to weigh losing a coach of his genius…
Would be hard to replace what he brings.

The Lions had a culture of losing, it didnt matter who they put in charge, they were bad.
I think that's what's going on with the Steelers. They've been infected with mediocrity and will not be able to break out of the culture.
So, will replacing the goofball Coach make a big change, or will the culture of the team influence the replacement and cause the same shit to happen.
I'm thinking that's plausible.

Drama you're cracking me up pretty good today.
I think this team (and this board) is finally cracking everyone.

This.
Otherwise until we move on from Mediocre Mike and Mid Kenny mediocrity will be the norm.

Don't be so short sighted.
Austin can probably get us a first, AND a compensatory R3 comp as a DEI hire...

Stan Verrett, on SportsCenter, just suggested Mike Tomlin for NFL Coach of the Year. Not in a joking sense. Swear to God.
Just wanted to pass that along.
