Pickett is not the answer, he has started 24 games in 2 years and didn't finish 5 of them, and worse than that has thrown 13 TD passes, I don't give a shit who his coaches were, that is ass awful, and he's fragile as well.
you may not care who his coach was calling and designing his offense but it simply does matter. a HoF qb wasnt able to do anything better in the same offense until he ignored said offense at the end of the games. it matters. he may never be a winner he may have been ruined or he may yet excel but we cant know yet because tomlin was too loyal to canada concussions shouldnt count as fragile qualifiers otherwise yes being hurt too often is a fair point in evaluating any player
Ben Johnson is winning with Jared Goff. That's how much coaching matters.
love to have Johnson, Ben thinks McCarthy could be a good OC here (if he's free)

I would pass on McCarthy
He did get the Cowboys to the #1 scoring offense in the league this season but it did not translate.
McCarthy loves the run game too much. He got rid of Kellen Moore to install his own offense stating he (McCarthy) wants to "run the damn football".
McCarthy stepped out of character in the 2010 SB knowing he could not run on the Steelers which was of course a smart move.
