Who did it better?
Josh Allen fake slide or
Peyton Manning actual slide where he was never called down, then got up and ran for a first down a few years back?
The Allen fake slide

The slide rules and QB rules are ridiculous
No head shots. Fine. But you have to allow for fast movements that create glancing blows
Don’t want the QB driven into the turf. Fine. But you have to allow for falling on top during a tackle
No late hits. Fine. But you gotta give ‘em a 2 Mississippi for momentum carrying you into the QB
Most of all
Don’t wanna get hit ?? Throw the ball away
This idea that the QB can run and not get hit is ridiculous

He put his hand behind him to catch himself to slide. How are you not seeing this?Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 10:09 pmHe cut to the left, never lowered himself to the ground.Greeksteel wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:56 pmSome of you are very gullible imo, that is a clear fake slide, get the defender to relax becuase i know im protected by that stupid QB protection rule type of move. Clear as it gets.

He slows and cuts left. His left hand wave at the cut is more of a change of direction thing (to me, anyway). I don’t know how you can know what he’s thinking in that split second. That doesn’t mean the Steelers defenders aren’t waiting for the slide, but the QB isn’t obligated to slide. If Allen takes advantage of their hesitation, that’s a good play by him.
The NFL has made a mess of its rules. If a QB runs, he should be treated like any other runner. Defenses can’t be expected to figure out what he may or may not do. I can’t blame any QB for taking advantage of the rules. I also can’t blame any defender for easing up because they fear a penalty and/or a fine.
Mike Tomlin and NHALS - The embodiment of the soft bigotry of lowered expectations.
Really, wtf does it matter? If MR did this we'd all be applauding him.Jams wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 3:08 amHe put his hand behind him to catch himself to slide.
