The Who was the last time, IIRC. Just checked, 2010.

AC/DC still tours and sells a lot of tickets, same with DL, Billy and Garth, even Elton.

But Rhianna, when was the last time she had a "hit" or even a concert.

It's a choice made by douches. I'm sure none of them like GNR or classic rock, stuck on the Current Thing the entertainment industry is shoving down eeryone's throats.
Yeah, I was thinking of The Who, and they were shockingly disappointing.

But most of the others you mentioned haven't released a new song in forever, either. Fair point about touring/performing recently. I don't think anyone wants to watch Cheeseburger Rose re-unite G&R.

Elton is also hanging it up. I would agree with you that maybe they should gravitate toward the legends as the last time many people will see them perform (i.e. Prince).

But if you were to stay with the sort of 40's age demo for the SB, you're looking for acts that peaked in the 90's or early 00's. So Pearl Jam and the whole grunge scene (errr, PJ is about the only group left alive from the Grunge era). Tim McGraw, although I doubt the NFL will ever book another country act for the SB.

Can the Cryboys do anything with the Ray Ray fumble.

It's crazy that, aside from AB and maybe briefly Randle El, our returners have pretty much sucked the entire Tomlin era.

Well, I guess Santonio Holmes, too. So maybe that's not awful. But I feel like Cowher's teams usually had decent returners.

All of these turnovers and defenses aren’t collapsing. Must be nice. Then again there is no Tebow, Mayfield, Bortles level elite QB play out there.

Other than that, isn't it about time for a classic rock act, or is that not permitted. Def Leppard, Billy Joel, AC/DC...
Feel like they've done that, and they've often been way too far past their primes. It also is a little weird to have an act who's heyday pre-dates when any of the players were born.

I'm sure Eminem will be the big surprise for Rhianna's performance.

Tomlin’s defense would have already given up 28-35 points.

Well, that's a premature conclusion without analyzing how long the defense was on the field, how long of a field they had to work with, wind conditions, etc....

Those defenses had it in for Roethlisberger!

They really let him down.

NO.

Back in the 80's they could have had some really good halftime acts when they were still young, but no. Up With People.

Did they ever do Rappers Delight? Did that get worked in last year? If not, terrible opportunity missed.

Remember how the steelers had a shitty punter the entire season, and Coach did nothing about it...yes, Pepperidge Farms remembers.

This reminds me of when the Ravens would face the Patriots in the playoffs, and people would root for the Patriots. Six Super Bowl titles later, I'm so glad people were rooting for the Patriots. I don't want a KC dynasty.
Describe dynasty.
I think there’s a better chance of the Bengals turning into a “dynasty” than KC.
KCs window is starting to close, while Cinci’s isn’t yet fully open yet.
Just my 2 cents…

Just for the record, I don’t think either team will actually turn into a dynasty.
I don’t think we see another dynasty type organization any time soon, unless another Ernie Adams comes along.
Three or four super bowl wins. The Chiefs already have a super bowl win this iteration, the Bengals don't.
Fair enough. So I guess by that standard, KC certainly could achieve dynasty status, especially if they manage to win it this year. But they are still a long way from that. Winning a Super Bowl just isn’t that easy.

To be honest SF’s “let’s just let Dak blow this” strategy is pretty smart and i didnt see it coming.

I'd take some corny and wholesome 70s nostalgia over whatever weird garbage they have been putting out.

Normally, the way to beat White Mike in the playoffs is to fall behind big early, and then catch him turtling late to steal the win.

SF is doing it wrong.

Years ago, I suggested Terry Fator. To me that's perfect - find someone current with chops to cover the classics.

But, knowing the NFL, we're probably not far from just getting hologrammed performances.

Dak is too greedy.

He had the first down with the guy split wide (SF was playing off him, but he took the contested deep shot to Lamb instead.

Dak seems like a good enough QB. Just never someone that springs to mind when talking about elite QBs.

Kind of like a guy who has everything BUT the intangibles.
