As a pitt fan i guess i should be a marino supporter,

But it really feels out of place to have him that high on the list. 1x league MVP 0x superbowl winner?

The dolphins had two 5-year stretches of good offense with him, and totaled 4 seasons where they finished top 4 in scoring. It’s not like Miami was devoting all their resources to defense in the Marino era either. Brady, for comparison, posted a top 4 scoring offense…13 times? Including 9 seasons in a row at one point.

Can’t compare the era Marino played to Brady. Rules are so different. You have to admit Marino would throw for 70 tds in the league we have today. Even guys like Bradshaw in the 70s had it rough with the passing rules. Just can’t compare stats from these two different times. I do think Brady is the goat but can’t kill Marino cause of those stats. Just two different ganes they were playing because of the passing rules.

Montana went into that 1984 SB with Roger Craig and a Ronnie Lott defense. Marino went in with Andra Franklin and a sieve.

I still remember Chuck Noll after the 1984 AFCC mouthing "WOW" to Marino after the game was over and the Steelers blown out.

That list is stupid. They are awarding SB losses, not wins. If that's the case, then Jim Kelly should be on that list. And what's the metric? Super Bowl performance? Then Bradshaw definitely needs to be on that list.

The only guys on that list that deserve it are brady, montana, manning, and elway. Who else? Bradshaw, BR, Jim Kelly, Staubach, Bob Griese, Troy Aikman, and maybe Jim Plunkett and/ or favre.

Jim Kelly going to 4 straight is some feat. But in those 4 games....2 TD 7 INTs

Stauback had some post season career. 4 SB's 2-2 record. Unfortunately he had to face the greatest team ever, twice.
13-7 post season record. 8 TD 4 INT in super bowls. 100+ QB rating in 3 of those games.

Jim Kelly had what I call the "eight ball jinx." Run the table but scratch on the 8 ball shot.
