Poaching the Pats won’t seem quite so bad after they go dumpster diving for Gabe Davis.
The final moves to be made.

Ran across an article this morning suggesting Colts WR Alec Pierce may be an option the Steelers could have interest in.

I believe the article suggested it might be worthwhile for an early day 3 [2026] draft pick. ‘Hypothetically’jebrick wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 9:27 pmTrading for him? I wouldn’t mind that at all another article had Carolina Jalen Coker or Joe Horn
I can't see the Colts letting their #2 WR go for a day 3 pick UNLESS Richardson busts and they clean house...again.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 11:50 pmI believe the article suggested it might be worthwhile for an early day 3 [2026] draft pick. ‘Hypothetically’jebrick wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 9:27 pmTrading for him? Well you know the Steelers FO will monitor every team off-season to add a WR. This team FO can’t make a mistake again like they did last season. Could they be that idiotic
Yes
With these TEs and Rodger’s … I see an even more conservative game plan coming on O for most of the game. They will expect Rodger’s to win games late though
Run the ball, lobs to metcalf and short passing to TEs

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 88 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

Tomlin and Co. remind me of a certain era in Montreal Canadiens history where the arrogance was so thick you could cut it with a knife. "We know better!" AFter a long period of success, that kind of attitude can fester. Then the wheels start falling off and they finally realize they CAN'T keep doing what they do. This might be one of the most consequential years in recent Steelers history...change is overdue and needed but we can't be in any way certain that the Rooneys believe that. One more coaching extension for MT is going to finish me off...955876 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 13, 2025 5:36 pmYes. Yes they absolutely can be that idiotic. no matter how frustraing the Steelers are, there are always the Browns to make me feel better.

And there are rumors that they are shopping Sanders already.

The trib has an informative series I ran across this morning breaking down the current 90 man roster. Enjoy.

With Broderick Jones at LT and for all practical purposes, a rookie at RT (Fautanu didn't play in a game that mattered last season) a conservative approach is the right way to go with a 42 year old QB and 3 good TE's.
The interior o-line should be outstanding and I'm excited about the Warren and Johnson backfield.
The major question marks are at tackle and WR #2, but I also think those who gave up on Roman Wilson might feel differently about that kid if he's healthy. Sure, I'd love to see them add a sure fire stud opposite Metcalf and Wilson is no sure thing, but if he stays healthy, Wilson is going to be a very good player.

Am I the only one worried about the West Virginia kid staying healthy?
Word is Frazier was quite banged up his rookie year

A Rookie Olineman is not going to have the muscle/weight to escape unscathed. Lets see what he looks like after an off-season. I would expect he added some muscle/weight to help. McCormick is the other one that needed to add muscle.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 2:09 pmAm I the only one worried about the West Virginia kid staying healthy?

I'm not dismissing your concerns but he couldn't have missed more than a game or 2 (I don't actually remember missing any games but I think he might have been out for 1 or 2) and aren't all NFL players pretty banged up as the season goes on, especially a rookie that isn't used to the rigors of professional football?Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 2:09 pmAm I the only one worried about the West Virginia kid staying healthy?

Frazier was up and down as a rookie but if anything, I expect a hard worker like this dude to be even better and even more prepared for this year.
As for injury worries, I'm much more concerned about the older guys like Heyward and Watt playing 17 or 18 games and Fautanu coming off a destoryed kneecap. Didn't Fautanu have serious injury issues in college?

Agreed- a ton of rookies hit that wall. There is no way to prepare for the intensity and length of an NFL season. It's a marathon laced with thousands of sprints.jebrick wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 2:34 pmA Rookie Olineman is not going to have the muscle/weight to escape unscathed. Now the depth BEHIND Frazier is something that has me concerned.
Fully agree (I posted something similar right after you).K_C_ wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 2:35 pmI'm not dismissing your concerns but he couldn't have missed more than a game or 2 (I don't actually remember missing any games but I think he might have been out for 1 or 2) and aren't all NFL players pretty banged up as the season goes on, especially a rookie that isn't used to the rigors of professional football?Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 2:09 pmAm I the only one worried about the West Virginia kid staying healthy?

Faunt did have injury concerns coming out of college, but you can see he's super talented.
As to the other side of the ball- who believes that Cam can replicate what he did last year? He's going to be headed for IR sooner vs later.

So, they end up with the other Niners wideout... for the right price, I'd be interested, but it'd damn sure have to be the right price. About the best part of this off-season has been not giving up, and accumulating a little, 2026 QB draft capital.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 3:31 pmhttps://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootba ... from-49ers

Yep. If Watt is traded, for a first and more (and that's definitely what it would take to trade him and if I'm Khan, I accept nothing less) then a guy like Jajuan Jennings could be affordable. Probably wouldn't cost more than a 4th rounder I'd imagine.Ice wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 4:09 pmSo, they end up with the other Niners wideout... for the right price, I'd be interested, but it'd damn sure have to be the right price. The 49ers are in a weird spot. Their Super Bowl window looks to have closed and now they have to pay Purdy. McCaffrey had a baby yesterday (Jesus Christ is Olivia Culpo beautiful) but is on his last legs as an effective RB. Kittle can't have a whole lot left in the tank. Deebo is gone. Aiyuk could take awhile to get going coming off a torn ACL. They might be in last gasp territory just like the Steelers so I'm surprised they'd consider dealing Jennings.
But a WR group of Metcalf, Jennings, Wilson and Austin III would look pretty damn good to me.

Jennings was someone they were considering in the past but he was fresh off of his second deal, I believe.

I think all this talk about the 2nd WR because they are happy with their 3 TE offense. They are planning to believe Wilson and Austin will step into that 2nd Spot

Will we see a move before camp? During Camp ? Or after the last exhibition game ?
They will bring in another outside receiversteelmann58 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 16, 2025 1:45 amI think all this talk about the 2nd WR because they are happy with their 3 TE offense. They are planning to believe Wilson and Austin will step into that 2nd Spot
Because as of now, they have no one to replace Metcalf if he gets injured- and they aren’t going to repeat last seasons debacle
It’s not going to be some high dollar signing, but they’ll definitely bring someone in.

They are almost guaranteed to be forced to bring in a vet F/A WR.
