The reason I'm not sold is he's shown no ability to throw receivers open or anticipate them uncovering. VERY hesitant to let it rip unless the guy is wide WIDE the fuck open downfield.

He's fine throwing to a spot - going to need to do a lot more timing routes to build his confidence throwing downfield.

They doing well with the short stuff and checkdowns, but defenses are going to figure that out.

I'll say it again, if I had my choice of Mayfield, Darnold or Mason Rudolph, I'd be calling Ubers for Mayfield and Darnold.

Rudolph will end up being WAAAAAY fucking better than both of them.

He is...however his very first pass of the game was zipped between two defenders. His INT was another case, plus two passes to JW.

So give it time. He's getting better.
