Good make up catch by Freiermuth after fucking up AND getting blasted at the goal line.

If we can get a stop to start the third quarter, we'll get back in this one quick.
When you watch that play again, you will see Freiermuth had a defender hanging onto him the instant he made his cut.

Should have been called….wasn’t.
…and he barely turned around (his fault) to catch the ball thrown to what would be his rear shoulder.

When does DJ demand a trade?

He'd be a 100+ catch, 8+ TD guy on another team/another QB.
Whoah dude I just went outside and smoked some sweet hybrid.

Your shit is waaaaay better than mine!!

Just pace yourself.
He had seasons of 90 and over 100 catches with an actual QB before. Hardly anyone in the NFL gets open more than he does.

In a different system with a great QB? Oh yeah, he'd put up those #s.
He pissed Ben off plenty too. There were shit tons of times Johnson wasn't on the same page as Ben.

Weird too that George Pickens had more TD's (DJ had none) and damn near the same number of yards on half the targets.

Pickens must believe Kenny's a real QB.

I wish Flores was the dc. D needs to step up this half big time.

Tomlin had the boys ready

Opening drive of 2nd half will determine if we are in it or a fucking joke today

Sad half
Here's the issue we are most likely a mid team facing a bona fide contender. The preseason had all of us, including myself thinking we could run with the big dogs. This is a reality check.
I’m not mad about facing a SB contender in week one though. Win it and guys have proof that can compete with anyone. Lose it and get humility after the inflated expectations that started with the draft and pre-season.

Kenny has a test here that he can still pass. Not be discouraged by the bad start or the 1st half dominance of the leagues best defense. He can lead the fight back into this game. This is a hard team to come from behind on though.

B2B told us.

Told us what?

We'd be down 20-7 at halftime of our first game against a team that has been to 5 straight NFC Championship games?
He said this week would be a reality check. Which it has been so far.

Halftime stats:

Kenny Pickett has the highest QB rating in the AFC North
That's.... unbelievable.
Clev/Cinn is in a driving rain. QBs and pass catchers are having a hard time. Browns defense is real.

So Muth was held and the throw was STILL behind him?
What?

No it wasn’t.
Yes it was. He had to reach back for it. That throw had no chance held or not.

This is twice you’ve said this, KC.

You can say it a million times and you will still be wrong.

The Niners have not been to five straight championship games. That is Kansas City.

The Niners have been to three of the last four, which is no slouch of an effort…but it isn’t five straight.

The year they weren’t there was the year Brady led the Bucs to the Super Bowl win…2020.

The championship that year was Bucs/Packers.

Wow.

Who was the defender that had him in the backfield and just gave him a gentle squeeze?

What the heck was TJ doing on that play. Looked like an illegal block at the end. Should have been called.

Oh never mind…McCaffery bounced off his own guy away from the tackler…and it was a few yards downfield already.
