It set the team right for one game- I like seeing them come out and show they were embarrassed at the Philly performance.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves...still 12 games to play, and some tough opponents in there.
No one is getting ahead of anything. Bedwetting losses or over fellating after wins is not my style. Team had a bad week, it responded. Haley (as reported by Michele T) said the loss may have been a blessing in disguise because players were more receptive to coaching this week than they have been in a while. And the coaching staff, to their credit, didnt run and hide from the tape-- they owned up to it and made the players do the same. The team put forth an effort that I would say that is probably its best- top to bottom that we have seen since the SB run. I dont live in my own fears regarding the tough teams on this schedule-- its the bums that seem to give us more trouble than they should.
I think that a team can sometimes buy into the hype and think that will win games- like last week. This team went to confessional, said its Our Fathers, and has a renewed outlook that comes from being redeemed. I think Unleash Hell over reached because it got away from "one game at a time". This was a highly focused effort that should serve as the new standard.
I agree with all of this. I simply want to see it week in week out (understanding that we'll never get a perfect storm every week like we got last night).
I'm just leery about the team right now...I need a few more all-out focused efforts like this before I believe it will be the norm and not the exception. Too often in the past we've seen efforts like in 2014: Colts and Ravens back-to-back followed by the Jets stinkfest where we only scored 10 points and let Michael Vick beat us.
