100% correct. Dirty Red and Chick would both need to have polio first.
Is it possible to get ball polio?

Football related, I think you just named two guys who are going to need to have a very good training camp and preseason. Lot of draft and FA capital spent on ILB in particular.
100% correct. If these two jags are standing in the way of younger, more athletic players it’s a travesty. Tomlin is so fucking conservative with young players, but we need them. They can make splash plays and create havoc. If they make mistakes, who gives a shit? Let them learn and get better. Matakevich runs like my mom towing a Chevy, he needs to move on to his life's work.

That said, I am eager to see what Barron has. I also think Vince can still be useful with the right guy next to him.

Samuels talking in interviews about the possibility of more two back sets this season. May have been mentioned elsewhere, but it's hard to tell which thread is which anymore.

Seems like a big positive and a sign of further evolution and growth from the team and staff.

I called this weeks ago (maybe somebody called it before me, maybe not) but there is NO DOUBT Samuels will be on the field as a receiver. Likely split out like Bell used to be or coming out of the backfield in motion.

Zero doubt in my mind, the kid is simply too talented a receiver to keep on the bench and this also likely makes Switzer's role redundant.

In other words, the little fella better hold on to his dough. No more ice cream trucks in his future.

The only way Switzer makes this squad is if he's head and shoulders better than Johnson in the return game.

Not sure Switzer's head and shoulders better than anybody at anything, being that he was beyond a JAG as a returner last season.

I recall Conner saying something to that effect in an earlier interview during OTA's. Stated there's going to be a more running by committee this season if memory serves.

Because they all devolve into AB and LB debates?

 yeah, Polt, and KC, Samuels specifically mentioned motioning out of the backfield as a receiver.

Chickillo is the next man up @ OLB. The mighty Matakevich has a spot locked down due to outstanding teams play. And no one but no one will wrestle a roster spot away from Switz. He is a multi-tool that is too valuable in multiple places.

Switzer’s a tool alright.

Didn't they prattle on about Bell and Deangelo being in a 2 back set for the longest time?
How often did we see that?

So I'm not getting my hopes up on anything positive related to the RB group: 2 back sets, dividing up playing time, etc. Because Tomlin has shown time and time again that the best predictor of behavior is past behavior

Been a lot of subtle but meaningful staff tweaks this offseason, Donnie. I know there's an element of Lucy, Charlie Brown and a football (loved that sig, Lit) to it, but I'm more positive than usual about some of this stuff going into 2019.

New OC, new RB coach, better RB depth.

I could see them running maybe ten two back plays this year. That'd be a pretty large increase.
