Not going to cry over Mcain and there no way Blake should be anything near a starting CB.
This also does not look like a good year to pick a TE

In a decidedly poor tight end draft class, he's head and shoulders the best right now. Even if there are some surprise declarations, he'd still be one of the first couple of TEs picked.

This draft has no TE I would tke in the top 3 rounds. It is actually a perfect draft for Steeler TEs as I do not see a game changing athletic pass catcher in the lot. If they want another Miller they can get Vannett in the 3rd or 4th.

You wouldn't run to the podium for O.J. Howard? I would.

I will be the lead blocker!!!

IF he enters the draft, the local word is OJ Howard is just not smart. at all. that is why he was so underused in the passing game. coaches just couldn't count on him to be where he was supposed to be. Is he talented?? hell yes. Is he too dumb to pick up the details of an NFL offense? possibly. He does seems to be a willing and capable blocker so he could help out while he is being coached up.

in other news, Sammie Coates had bad hands at Auburn. so, who knows.

I think DL depth is highly important. there is no way Tuitt/Heyward can be effective in the 4th without rest.

I agree the edge rushers aren't getting it done. time to spend yet another high rounder on an OLB.

Safety. Corner. and general team depth everywhere.

You guys need to read the previous posts. I already posted confirmation of Howard staying in school a few posts before this.

There's only one real "need" when it comes to the steelers. Keep #7 playing for every minute of the season.

Just looked up the stats and steelers OL finished 11 of 12 out of postseason teams. They finished the regular season at #14. I pegged that group #10-15 at the beginning of the season. Pouncey and decastro bring up the average, foster and beachum bring it down, glibert is right around a push, although he had two bad playoff games.

So I'd easily go T or G in first two rounds. I like TE too.

Sammie Coates over Wheaton
an upgrade at TE over Miller or at least shared snaps with a young player with upside
a legit edge rusher opposite year two Dupree, with Deebo and Jarvis or the like as rotational players
a legit option for the #3 DE
a better strong safety
adding in Golson and a young CB with size
a legit OC/playcaller... even if Fichtner just gets playcalling duties and Haley remains OC

makes basically all the warts go away in one off-season.

We need to draft smart, but few if any drafted players will have an IMMEDIATE impact on the 2016 team. So they need to supplant the draft class with at least 1 solid FA signing, someone who can contribute IMMEDIATELY.

I don't know if they have the cap space to do it, especially if AB will be getting a raise.

Safety
Corner
Pass rusher—OLB/DE I guess
Tight End
OL Depth
DL Depth

Prolly not the year to think about this…but sooner rather than later, we’re gonna have to spend a first round pick (prolly trade into a better pick than we’ll earn) to get the future Ben. But this is not the year to do it, right.

For Safety, I'm hearing some good things about Su'a Cravens of USC. I haven't seen him play...anyone have an opinion on him?

He would work well as a SS. He can play in the box but is also very good in the passing game( 9 INT...7 while playing SS). I worry he might be a 4.5 guy which would push him down into the 2nd. I think he is a playmaker but does not fit what Coblert&Co. have been drafting on defense lately.
