Add to the top 10 players of all time? Too soon?
Thank God he received coaching by an NFL coach before getting here.
Minkah might be God.

Agreed. He's been quiet since last season.
Haden was super today.
Hope they have something saved for Thursday night.

Offense owes defense at least dinner of wherever and whatever they want.
Fichtner should foot half the bill.

That defense of the bunch formation by the secondary looked like Hoosiers running the picket fence. It was brilliant.jeemie wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 1:10 amHaden was super today.

7 pts and 4 takeaway including game sealing int. I would say that the D more than made up for its play earlier in the season. I believe I read some article that since MFP joined the D. They've been 4th or 6th in total D. (Pts, yds, and takeaways)

That was the very definition of empty hand rule, and properly called. Close play but he didn't have a grip when his arm went forward.

On replay, by rule I think it was the right call. But it was definitely one of those plays that 95 out of 100 times would have been ruled incomplete right away based on how far forward the ball traveled and certainly whistled dead before Minkah got a chance to run it back. We were fortunate they let it go and didn't blow it dead.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 3:35 amThat was the very definition of empty hand rule, and properly called. I mainly was poking fun at the people who legitimately think the NFL is rigged against the Steelers, which is preposterous.

A different defense since Minkah certainly. But a whole different team? This guy..Really enjoyed the victory. Good stuff.

Except, of course, the 3 runs and punt safe mode standard at the end that gave the Rams one last chance.

Re: the safety... He had more than enough time to get the ball out and should have known he had a short clock. That on was on Rudolph.CORE-TEN wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:17 amBullshit. He had zero time to react.steelsmitty wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:17 amCan’t make that play call in that situation. Just can’t. Rudolph has not shown the ability to feel the rush coming and get rid of the ball. That’s a fail by fichtner

You know it wouldn't have been that bad an idea if the Steelers could..., ya know..., run the ball! If they had some sort of running game the run, run, run/pass option punt wouldn't be that horrific cause they'd have accomplished a first down or two and..., ya know..., ice'd the game.BouldernBun wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 4:50 amExcept, of course, the 3 runs and punt safe mode standard at the end that gave the Rams one last chance.
I'll tell you what as much as we did run the ball yesterday and as ineffective at times it was I liked what Brooks-James showed. He seemed like that change of pace type when ever he was brought into the back field. Believe it or not we may be seeing more of Brooks-James in a return capacity since yours and mein favorite returner was injured last night. If they decide Johnson is too valuable to risk featuring as a returner. Which I don't believe they'd do because they had AB do it nearly his entire career as a Steeler. We shall see.
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen that call before. It’s as if they were just looking for something there. As I said, they were making shit up as they went along. But, of course, illegal touch by Artie Burns, so ends up 33 yard net.

Here's the thing: Rams are a legit top 5 run defense. Steelers playing without Foster. Steelers haven't produced a solid running game output vs a top rush defense in something like 3 years, excepting Samuels vs NE last year. The chances of them being able to run the ball effectively yesterday were slim. They were just running it for show, more or less. To their credit, there was a minute there where the run game finally got some traction but this is one week where I'm not upset at the run output. And three runs at the end was justifiable, based on the way the defense was playing. i.e.: Tomlin finally has the defense he can count on again, so his strategic choices are going to work out better.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 3:04 pmYou know it wouldn't have been that bad an idea if the Steelers could..., ya know..., run the ball! Fun game yesterday.
Man, I love a scoring defense, a defense that takes the ball away.
From a defensive standpoint... good times!
I'm really looking forward to seeing what this team can do next season with Ben at the helm. Something significant might be brewing with this team

The Run game needs to get better especially this time of the year. The punt by Berry stunk all he had to do was Boom the Punt.
