I just can't keep ignoring this type of bullshit on these boards.

First off, have some white people not been harshly criticized for culture and traditions that offend others? That certainly and justifiably goes both ways. Tear down the statues and stand for the national anthem - I think they're all fucking stupid snowflakes.

Second justifiable criticism and racism are not mutually exclusive...but neither is criticism automatically racist.

Third, what are these "unrealistic standards" you're referring to? Bell is paid 150% more than the next highest paid RB. While much racism is ignored or denied, much racism is also imagined. Seems kind of moronic, IMO, to suggest that fans of a league that has been, for years, less than 20% white are looking to put black athletes in their place.

If anyone thinks the Bell criticism is about race they are fucking morons. Are there racists, sure, but this asshole held out for 15mm and left his team. Fuck him, my family owns 5 Bell jerseys between us, and they will never be worn again.

I'll be wearing my Bell jersey for the Jaguars game.

Great. He is a great player. I just don't agree with how he handled the situation so won't be sporting his jersey anymore. But understand why people wear the jersey.

Bell sucked out loud today. Maybe his worst game as a steeler, if it wasn't the ACCCG.

I honestly missed this. Interested to see how many 5-wide and 4-wide/TE packages we ran. I assumed the decision not to activate Hunter meant no 5-wide. But maybe they're content to trot out DHB 2-3 times there for being such a ST "superstar".

They traded Coates for an R6 pick - if Hunter isn't good enough for 4/5 wide or doesn't concern defenses, then that trade was stupid. Period.

I guess the Oline not run blocking was also punishment. whatever motivates him to do better next week.

Didn't seem like complaining, to me. Seemed more like attempting to laugh off a bad performance.

Run blocking was not good, and Bell was rusty. Not worried.

I remember some on this board creaming themselves over Felix Jones outpacing a bunch of grocery baggers. I said it was dumb to cut Redman, and he was back two weeks later.

I was one who was saying not to be worried about him being away all summer, that it wouldn't affect his game at all.

I was wrong. When you think about it, his former strong performances, on his first game back from suspensions after missing two games, 3 games, etc. they had one thing in common. He was not suspended for training camp or the preseason. He was with the team both of those times, putting in the work, around his brothers, gelling, etc.

This time with the layoff of not being around because he was delaying signing his franchise tender, he did not have the benefit of the preseason of training camp. It looked to me like he was badly, hopelessly out of sync with the offense, with Ben, and they with him.

Also, he looked really, really slow and tentative. Usually he is one not to take too many runs or catches for no yards, but he really looked bad today.

I will say this as well, not just Bell, but all of them on offense need to get off their collective high horse and stop reading their press clippings. Eli Rogers you had what? 2 catches for 11 yards? On 5 targets? JuJu did you even have a catch? And you eliminated two good plays with holding penalties JuJu? And Justin Hunter was deemed unworthy to get a hat because of what exactly? Between Bryant/JuJu/Rogers they combined for 4 catches for 25 yards. Justin Hunter might have gotten a deep pass or two completed and may have got things rolling faster.

It's Bell being Bell....I think his coaches & teammates know this. Just ignore his tweets, videos, etc. and turn him loose on Sundays.

Additionally, he allowed himself to be flatfooted a few times, something he didn't do at all when he was rolling. He missed two catches b/c he was planted on the ground instead of on the balls of his feet, and he had at least one run where he got stopped cold because he was too planted to jump cut out of it.

Do people think he's really complaining in those tweets?

This is getting ridiculous.

Prediction- it's going to take more than two games.

And I think teams are adjusting to his style as well.

Bell looked a little sluggish and a little plodding to me.

We got ourselves a Gentleman's bet.

I got Bell with 100+ Yds from scrimmage (rush+rec) and 1 or more TD.

NE held their lanes against Bell and waited for the cavalry while Bell danced. CLE ignored the dancing and just attacked - when Bell starts to dance, you gotta hit where he is not where you think he's going to be.

What's ridiculous? His holdout for $15M? Not attending camp? His tweets? Or his performance today?
