Fantasy Football

So I've read some tweets and what not from former players who are saying fantasy football has ruined the game and encouraged the NFL rules to favor offense.

I've been in a hometown league for 12 years. I've never had anymore fun winning games 190-185 than winning games 90-85. Its just a fun way to give you a little more interest in games other than your fav team.

Its the lawsuits, the CTE etc that has been the driving force behind rules favoring the offense. Its hitting a tipping point. The league is turning into arena football.

It’s not only happening in football, its the pussification of America. Go talk to an old school teacher or coach and see whats going on not only in the classroom but with the parents. Its never little Johnny’s fault, and there is zero discipline or expectations from a majority of parents.

I agree on your point. As someone that played when game scores were calculated manually for fantasy football based on newspaper box scores, to me it seemed as though so many players scoring so many points waters it down.

But maybe that is where Fantasy football contributed to this. More people can feel better about scoring more points even if they don't know what's going on. It's actually the reason I stopped playing. Less skill, more luck. But that may be why more people play. They love it easy and attribute losing to "oh well I had bad luck".
