Other than Brown and Ben, I can't think of another player ton this roster that will keep an opposing coach awake at night.

ALL of the defensive plays made in the final 2 good D stands did NOT include either Troy or Ike

plays made by Heward, Gay, Allen

Heyward and Allen both played shitty today

Gay was the only one who played consistently well

They weren't too old
They were too dumb biting on misdirection constantly
And too weak

go back and watch troy and ike -- they are too old to start in this league any longer -- they are backups. Overpaid backups.

Ike is indeed too slow
But our bugger problem was dumb, dumber and dumbest playing LB. The steelers were destroyed on the ground

Keisel looked damn good at times though.

The Browns receivers had about 130 receiving yards...it was nearly all ILB on TEs...Timmons and Shaz were beat like a drum...TP and even IT had pretty good days vs the pass...I don't know if a cb in the NFL makes a play on the route IT was beat for the score...

Troy did not look good in this game. That being said, it's too early to write him off. If he repeats his poor performance in consecutive games then I might start to agree.

I think we will still be seeing great things from Troy this season.

Troy started losing it about 3 years ago.

We no longer have DPOY Harrison.

That's why I wanted to go D early and often last draft.

I think TP had a dozen tackles and the one WR gain of 20 plus wasn't on him...

I'm not saying Troy is not still a good player. He is.

He is not a HOF level difference maker anymore. He is a shadow of what he once was.

This.
One Game. Troy was Troy Last Season, still fast and effective.

Troy is not Done! 15 games to go and he looked fast in preseason. Troy is great for a reason. He identifies his mistakes and fixes them. Look for Troy to optimize.

As far as Mitchell goes, he needs to figure it out, he's got to be better than that. Cortez needs to wrap an RB in the open field.

You can't make splash plays every game...I'm almost certain nearly all those 10 plus runs were on Mitchell.

Troy does not have the quickness he once had. He does not have the same burst and explosiveness. It erodes slowly.

I noticed a difference 3 years ago. Doesn't mean he wasn't still a great player 3 years ago, but I could tell and that decline has continued.

I'm not saying he isn't still a good player. He is.

The team is too old in parts and too young in parts. They are starting a rookie at MLB. A second-year at OLB. Their D line has had wholesale changes. Working in a new FS. I expect them to suck for at least half a season until they actually understand what the hell they are doing.

Until they do, Ben, Bell, AB and the rest are going to have to bail this team out. That D is going to be a work in progress throughout the year. Basically, the coaches need to understand they can't ever turtle. There can be no run out the clock. Until the defense begins to gel, full throttle on offense. Because a team that can put up 27 in a half can be a good team. Just need to hide the D's deficiencies for a while.

For all his experience, Troy is always biting on shit.

Becoming a big liability.

Doubt we can win a SB with Troy /Ike as key starters against a strong passing O

I don't know which game you guys were watching

In the 2nd half, Browns went almost exclusively NO HUDDLE and I could see Troy chasing plays, not making plays.

He is NOT the old Troy, and not even the Troy of last year -- at least, he's not when a young team is running no huddle.

Troy struggled to cover big, young TE's in the 2nd half -- guys who aren't particularly fast, but they're young and obviously in better shape than him

I agree. But the key for the D is the age of guys who can't keep up when the opposition is running the no huddle. Gay had no problem. Allen had no problem. Heyward and the other young guys had no problem. I saw Troy and Ike having a difficult time with TEMPO in the 2nd half -- they need those breaks in between plays.

I think this is exactly how the Eagles destroyed us in pre-season -- running no huddle, hurry up O the entire time.

If I'm a head coach of our future opponents, I watch the 2nd half Browns tape and the 1st half Eagles tape, and I see how to CRUSH this Steeler D --
RUN HURRY UP NO HUDDLE EXCLUSIVELY -- the better teams may score on us on every possession that way.

Playing deep safety he's taken out of the play by his own DC
