Steelers: We Beat Those Bitches Inventory
Okay....few things:
*First off...we have some miserable fucks on this esteemed website. How anyone could watch yesterday's game and say that the win over those hated mother-fuckers from Foxboro, the New England Patriots, was "bittersweet," is wayyyyy wayyyyy beyond me. Me? I was absolutely insane in my living room. I was a nervous fuckin' wreck throughout, and postgame, I was flipping out in a positive vein. I don't think I've ever hurled so many f-bombs in pure joy....fuck yous all around to the Belichickians, particularly Brady, and that ogreous lug Gronk. To have a veritable must game against the team that's had our number for damn near decades, and walk out with a win....Nirvana!!! Bittersweet my ass!!!
*Next...okay, I'm on my way to the confessional, will say as many Hail Marys and Our Fathers as I'm assigned. Couple things I need to take back:
-#1 my statement for the past several years that Mike Tomlin will never beat Bill Belichick of any consequence. This wasn't a playoff game, but was certainly a game of mother-fuckin' consequence. Now...Tomlin wasn't perfect. I agree with most that he once again turtled and damn near cost his team the game. When Brady got the ball back with over two minutes left, 75 yards from a tie, I've gotta admit, I was ascared. I've been encouraged lately though to think positive, to not make myself grumpy, and I stayed to stay true to that.
*I was plenty fuckin' grumpy though when Chris Boswell missed the equivalent of an extra point. Had he not made the 48-yarder, I'm thinking Boz is on his way outta town today. I was insane, outta my mind when he missed the 32-yarder....drive to the 4-yard line, get zero points!!
*Oh...almost forgot. #2... Leveon Bell. Okay, okay, okay....Jaylen Samuels stepped the fuck up....biiiiig-time!! Zabo predicted it last week...only took a week to happen, but in a much bigger spot.
*Going forward....enjoying the hell outta being Behind Enemy Lines in New England today....but we're still not int. Those purple fucks from Baltimore are always a tough out, but we've got to have them lose to the Chargers in L.A. next Saturday night. That happens, and we can lose at New Orleans with no harm done. They don't lose, and we lose....and then we need to have either Browns win in Baltimore in the finale, and have both Colts and Titans lose a game each...and they play each other on the final weekend. Ravens are always a tough out, but I think Chargers get it done. In any event, I do think Steelers win in New Orleans next week. Steelers are that kind of team. Lose to Raiders. Beat Patriots. Why not beat Saints too? Give up multiple TD drives to Raiders....give up one solitary TD to Patriots on a busted coverage three plays in.
Should be attending to my work tasks right now....but hell with that. Priorities!! Go STEELERS!!!

Beating those assholes last night was the sporting highlight of the year for me.
I'm hoping a short week and having one of the byes locked up means we face a Saints team that isn't playing at 100% capacity. If we go into that zoo and pull off a win then I'll be impressed.

Great to get a win vs Patriots. Great to get a win that kept us in first place.

It was a great, great day.
Made even better by the word coming out of the Steelers locker room that Tomlin had invoked his internal Costanza (it's not you, it's me) to convince his charges that past losses were all due to Steelers errors, not their opponents play.
What Costanza classic will he pull out next? Maybe he'll do the opposite of his first inclination? Maybe a week too late for that move.
On to New Orleans!

My favorite part is where someone posted that our victory against the Patriots (and the assistance of the refs) was further evidence that the NFL is all a conspiracy and implied it happened to advertise a false parity while still maintaining Goodell's ultimate control over the narrative.
At that point all the logic circuits in my brain fried to a crisp and I started to write angry messages on the internet in defense of "Rick and Morty" as an intellectual exercise and pouring my savings into Steven Seagal's cryptocurrency.

The somehow is the somehow
We were happy as hell in my house yesterday. Even asked the question if losing to Raiders last week was worth it given the win this week.
I know you can’t draw that parallel but it was on my mind that had we stomped the Raiders we likely would not have been as desperate as we were yesterday.
The shame is that we shouldn’t need our season hanging in the balance to show up.
But a win is a win and Tomlin & Co deserve credit for yesterday. Huge win for him and the team. We should enjoy it.

Swiss - you pretty much described my game-viewing experience.
I haven't been too nervous for games lately (I tell myself I'm an adult , I can't do that). But my stomach was a wreck this game for some reason.
For me...no outbursts during the game except an "FU Boz FU". But once Haden made that int, out of nowhere I erupted into f-bombs and yelling at the top of my lungs....even though I knew it was far from over....it felt like it might happen after that.
The ensuing steeler drive - it bled what? 5 min? Huge performance.
Then the final play and knockdown by Burnett....absolute eruption. F-bombs. Until the throat had nothing to give.
I thought Redemption Sunday might just be another empty Tomlin catch phrase - like unleash hell.
Nope. It really was redemption sunday.
For the head coach, qb and team to get this monkey off their back.
For the defense that couldn't stop anyone when it mattered.
For Washington, who couldn't catch or contribute. How does he get out of it? Play on a ball the type he made a career out of in college.
For boz.....well.....I guess this one is debatable...if he makes the early one, does he make the late one? Kicker mentality is funny. Miss the last one, and pats have great field position and momentum. Mentally Boz may have just said "f it, I've lost my job and my mind...I'm taking it out on this oblong pig"
This game played out, the way it was supposed to. The season basically on the line (yes they still had a path with a loss). The recent failures compounded by facing essentially a lifetime failure in playing the pats. It HAD to be a late unmakeable FG. It HAD to be a late defensive stop against the GOAT. Washington's first big sideline catch HAD to be that way. Contributions from everyone, including unknowns like Samuels and Switzer.
Fricking. Awesome.

The steelers made plays when they had to
Brady did not
They beat the pats
And they stayed ahead in the playoff hunt
I will refrain from Tomlin bashing this week
And it was very pleasing to watch the pats make a series of piss poor offensive calls at the end of the game

Forgot to include in this piece, the commentary Behind Enemy Lines in New England today. It's all doom and gloom, assumption that they ceded a first round bye, and how the fuck could they have lost to the Steelers, who they always beat.
Fuck them!!! Steelers don't suck....just a bit schizo.
Oh...and I'm thinking Houston will lose in Philly this week, and Patriots will still gain the #2 seed.

Best things about win:
Watching Brady and Belichick humble in post game press conference
Getting ready for an entertaining Pittsburgh Dad
Watching both of the above repeatedly

You know Swiss..., I bet we'd have a damn killer time watching the Steelers. I was a complete basket case especially in the last 5 minutes of that game. I've seen that movie before. Anyway, After the confirmed WIN, I was all over the TV's screen with middle fingers up and Yelling as Loud as I could Fuck You! Every time I saw Belicheat, marsha and gronk walking towards the exit with the long faces, FOR ONCE! I admit in the beginning I was prepared for another disappointing stinker and had my scotch and beer..., scotch already topped off and beer ready to slam. And that's what I did once the time read 00:00 and the Steelers score was 17 and the cheats was 10. Happy fucking day. If I had to bitch about something? I wish the Steelers could have beat them 71 to 0. But I digress. Great win moving on to the aints. Tough sledding there. Great Win Go Steelers!

I yelled several times so loud my wife who smokes in the garage came inside at one point and told me she was sure our neighbors had to hear me yelling and dropping F Bombs. There were plenty. I never let up. At this very moment I’m rewatching the game and am totally relaxed. Suffered thru it yesterday and was ecstatic at games end.

Like Swiss I was going nuts in my living room, cursing wildly, so much so that my wife had to come storming in on several occasions asking what the hell is wrong with me, and what kind of example was I setting for the kids. I reminded her that 52 Sundays ago I behaved just as badly. She didn’t believe me, but I assured her it was true. When Brady’s last pass yesterday fell to the ground harmlessly, the reaction was intense, primal, and without form. But there was a function to it, and boy did it feel good. Cathartic. The feeling might be temporary (so it goes with sports), but I’ll take it all the same. Mood is way better today than it otherwise would have been, and I’m not going to apologize for it. I hate the fucking Patriots.

im still waiting on the defensive pass interference call on Bradys last gasp series putting ball at 1.
thank Jesus for the hold they drew!
im still stunned we won with tomlin. ill say this again. noway I put boz out there to kick from 48 to go up 7. im in 4 down territory and im hell bent to get a first. 2 fucking plays to get 6 yards is very good odds if u play call wisely. a first down effectively runs clock down to nothing. when tom terrific had 2 plus minutes to drive team I was sick. thankfully boz hits and most likely stops a loss in regulation. but if im bellicheck id go for two. how sickening that woulda been to lose that way.

I just sent this to my wife so she doesnt think I am too crazy. I was at the game, have to admit, when that pass fell incomplete I almost teared up. It was a huge relief to finally beat those fuckers. I went home and just backed in the glory while my wife yelled at me to go to bed.

Yessir...I particularly liked, “that ogreous (is that a word?) lug Gronk”.
I’ll admit to being negative and nervous going in, but when the Ben led the offense on that surgical opening drive, a calm of confidence came over me. I knew at the moment when VMac squeezed that opening TD pass that they had the right stuff going on. Even though they allowed the Cheats to hang around, I was confident. Even when Brady took control on their final possession, I was confident.
And when dumb dumb Tom’s final 4th down pass hit the turf, I let loose a couple dozen vigorous fist pumps that almost separated both shoulders...had to refrain from any F bombs...my 2 year old granddaughter was running around the house.
It was a good day!

Miserable fucks is right! Holy fuck, and I thought I was miserable. I was fucking ecstatic when Brady's pass to EZ fell to the ground. Screamed like a fuckin' banshee! Sorry miserable fucks, but that win wiped out the three-game slide for me. Hell, I wanna buy Mike Tomlin the cocktail of his choice right now. No he wasn't perfect, but they won, and I always the buck stops with him, so only fair to give the man credit. I loved my hangover at work this morning! GOOD FUCKING PAIN!!!

I too was thrilled at the result; it took me a few minutes to let the win sink in because up until the 0:00 I feel like I’d seen this movie over and over and over again.
Who had 17-10 in perfect weather? I sure as hell didn’t. The NFL is a grab bag this year; just all over the place.

Easy to be miserable because Pittsburgh beats NE but loses the last three in a row. Pittsburgh should of been a lock for the playoffs and now they could very easily miss the playoffs.
Lose to the Saints and that could be very well it. The Ravens are on fire and we barely escaped vs New England.
If you're optimistic good for you but Pittsburgh in my opinion has a better chance of missing the playoffs than making them. So I say woop t do, we beat the Patriots- who cares if we don't make moves in the playoffs? I certainly do not.
No playoffs- no care.

My phone usually blows up every year with all the Pats fans so this year I let the battery die without recharging. Only saw one guy at work still wear his affiliation team logo and colors and he congratulated me.
I am still on a dopamine kick and dont know if I will even come down if they lose to the saints 50-0 on national TV.
It was such a satisfying victory against a loaded full strength Pats team who needed this game badly.
I dont have the All 22 but scheme wise a lot of neutral talking heads were praising the blueprint that will get copied on how to play Brady.
As for this message board I was blown away at the number of posters who would rather say it was the dropped passes or Brady was off but it wasnt because maybe Brady was having happy feet with that relentless pass rush or a WR wanted no part of a Davis shot.

As for this message board I was blown away at the number of posters who would rather say it was the dropped passes or Brady was off but it wasnt because maybe Brady was having happy feet with that relentless pass rush or a WR wanted no part of a Davis shot.

My only guess is that there must be several guys here who regularly get $50K bonuses every year in their line of work to justify saying the Steelers suck if they dont win the SB every year because the fanbase is easily now accepting a loser mentality like the Jets or Browns or Bills.
All I can ask each year from each game is be competitive because the other team gets paid also.
I am even guilty of being spoiled about the defense and having a hard time accepting in modern rules that a defense that gives up 23 or less pts or 8 out of 12 possession pts ...is a good defense.

There are serious self rightout Steeler fans out there or whatever you want to call them but as much as I am a Butler hater I am I know I couldn't even carry his jock strap.
I see nothing wrong hating any player or coach but there are some that come off that they are a better Scout, GM, coach, player than any Steeler on the current active roster.
I am not talking about the typical fan who hates the coach or player and wants them fired ...there are some here who I honestly feel are superior to any player or coach on that team.
For those who can do better I say go for it:
I was told that he personally has looked at emails and resumes that he funnels down the line

Sorry, but Ravens on fire....lost last week and had a battle on their hands with Tampa Bay at home. Team that IS on fire is the Chargers, who the Ravens visit on Saturday. Look...I've said that Ravens are a tough out. But they lose at LA on Saturday, goes a long way to solidify Steelers' playoff chances.
