My home state of WV is down to the Final Four of no corona virus diagnosis.
Alabama 1 seed
Wyoming 4 seed
West Virginia 2 seed
Montana 3 seed
I got Mountaineers winning it all. Heroine, Homemade Meth, Mountain Dew, Pepperoni Rolls, and Chemicals in your drinking water are great for fighting diseases.

Too busy stockpiling toilet paper in my bomb shelter to worry about sports
I hope you have air filters in your bomb shelter. Pretty soon people are going to be looking for you, and breathing down the air vent.

Right now I'd watch two hamsters on a wheel if one of them was in Black and Gold.
I could have a free run of the city once everyone barricades themselves in their homes. But I need to get some rubber gloves and a plastic face shield.
I have been saving an entire series to binge watch for such an occasion. I am not saying it because I don't want any spoilers or people looking down on me.
I do have a scientific question does anyone else's woman, constantly watch "Forensic Files" and/or its Hunts Ketchup like cousin "The New Detectives" or these True Crime shows constantly? I am noticing a trend amongst my friends and want to know if it goes further than just a few women.

I’m pissed bout the Masters.

What's stupid is these fucking assholes buying everything in sight. I always think if the economy ever tanks like during the depression, it will be total chaos. People today are "what about me" cunts.
Wyoming has already fallen.

This is the one that stung the most for me.
I get that the elderly are at greatest risk and make up a large part of the crowd at the Masters, but it's that damn Augusta National pollen that will send you running for the inhaler.
Beautiful course, but brutal for allergy suffers like myself.

I don’t know why they can’t still hold the event but just have spectators. It’s not like they are needed for golf anyways.
Hold the event and throw it on TV.

My son is a senior in high school. Is a pitcher on the baseball team. They had a game yesterday that had already started. Someone from the district calls and says shut it down and send them home immediately.Thrillsseeker wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 3:26 amThis Shit is stupid.
My son was to wrestle at states this weekend. Cancelled along with everything else.
But then get this, we get a text message from district later in the evening saying at this time they’ve decided to keep the schools open.
Sooooo you can’t have your 13 kid baseball team out on the field after school playing ball but you can have 1,300 kids show up for school Monday.
Schools don’t get any money if kids aren’t in class.
Pretty pissed bout this given its looking like he is going to miss his senior year sports.

With no R1 pick, and probably no live draft - NO RUN TO THE PODIUM THIS YEAR!!!!

Messages yesterday was as of now school will resume Monday. Today mass messages say school is shut down for a month as someone in our county tested positive for Corona. Have a relative that works there. They were pretty bummed, said first time not to be played since WWII.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 2:19 pmThis is the one that stung the most for me.

With all the suspensions and cancelations in the sporting world it feels like Spring is canceled.
No Masters, the NHL playoffs possibly done, MLB on hold and the NFL draft diminished. Now with no students on campus(PSU) for the foreseeable future I can't drive around and check out the hotties when the weather turns warm.
But this is the best course to take.
I'm really down if the NHL doesn't have its playoffs. The Pens are getting old. Malkin will be 34 next year and Crosby 33. The window is closing quickly.
And the Masters is the ultimate kickoff to Spring. One of the best weekends all year.
At least there will be a SteelerFury mock draft.
Edit: March Madness...duh

The only sports in America right now are board games.
Who likes Catan? I just got Carcassonne which is pretty cool.

If you're bored with Catan try the Knights and Cities expansion.

Let's shut down the economy, another election year crisis. Less than 100 dead pop of 330 million. 2% mortality for those who contract, destroy the economic base for everyone else Fear and loathing, congratulations globalists it's working. But for how long? At some point the complicit .media will need adv revenue. CBS miss the Masters money much? Someone has to stand up.
It's actually that the hospitals would be overwhelmed if we don't curve the spread. Even among healthy patients who will recover, this has a much higher hospitalization rate than the flu.Old School wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 8:10 pmLet's shut down the economy, another election year crisis. If this doesn't go away with the warmer weather - and there's a good chance it will come back next winter - I'd expect the social distancing to continue until the vaccine has been widely distributed. That means no events or large gatherings for at least 12-18 months.
I think where this ends-up is otherwise back to business as usual, but the over 60 crowd and other at-risk groups are going to have to sort of self-isolate. Companies will need to think about how to protect their older workers. Less meetings, and more video conferencing and more working from home..this could cause dramatic changes on how we work (because companies will learn this is actually better for everyone AND more efficient).

Based on a mortality rate of 7.5% in Italy (1800 dead 24,000 infected) which WILL be higher in USA due to obesity/food quality etc at the same infection rate in Italy about 10,000 Americans will die. Now Italy quarantined whole geographic areas to get this mortality rate USA cant because some peoples kids have to wrestle and other people are worried about money or watching golf maybe 20,000 people may die but hey if its not me what the fuck??? Old school stand up and tell one of the 10,000 your golf or money were more important than their lifeOld School wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 8:10 pmLet's shut down the economy, another election year crisis. Italy, and many places, is not testing everyone and so many mild cases are not diagnosed. The actual mortality rate is much lower. And I don't know what's going on with Italy's healthcare, but I think they about double the mortality rate observed anywhere else.
Your point about diet and obesity aside (we also have much better hospitals), Korea provides a better indicator because they've been testing the most people. And there the mortality rate appears closer to 1.0%.

Italy also has a much higher smoking rate and an older population. That matters significantlyKodiak wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 10:32 pmItaly, and many places, is not testing everyone and so many mild cases are not diagnosed. The actual mortality rate is much lower.
