Big Ben Throwing/haircut

I have little doubt some of you dickheads will find a way to turn this political or into a pandemic debate but I just thought it was good to see our qb throwing the football.

FPWL says the surgical scars confirm no UCL tear and the best possible prognosis: likely 100% throwing. Our boy’s arm is gonna be like new.

Just realized Switzer is a target in the short video. Damn it. For a second I thought he was throwing to a toddler.

But why was Switzer there? How are you going to get Switzer the ball if he has to be at least 6 feet from the QB?
On a serious note, the tweets from Cam and JuJu definitely sound like they're not thrilled to have the NFL's worst teammate back [/sarcasm]

Don't you have to be on the field to get the ball?truckstoppornpatron wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 8:02 pmSwitzer has taken Ramon's place as Ben's BFF. Ben will not retire until he gets the Switz a superbowl ring. Ben will be getting him the ball early and often this season, you can bet.

I would have liked to see a video where you can actually, you know, see a throw from start to finish. Also, I don't like videos that make me feel like I'm having a seizure inside a room lit by strobe lights.
Of course, it made the point. But really JuJu saying "he's back!" tells you everything you need to know.

I've certainly had no problem bitching about Ben's lack on off-season effort in the past, but just this little video has me feeling like Ben is on a revenge tour. Out to prove to everyone he's the man!
First reaction, my gut tells me he's going to go off this season. (Disclaimer: if he stays healthy and there actually is a season.)

Throwing pain free for the first time "in years"....means I expect him to put in the reps to start the year dialed in. No extended preseason for Ben - he'll be in peak form Wk1.

Best news of 2020 so far. Can't wait for the season!
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”
Governor Sheep is not happy about Ben getting groomed at a Sewickely barber shop.
My question is, how was he gonna get that Viking beard chopped off while wearing a mask?
Governor Wolf is the guy who decided a pandemic was a good time to give Prohibition another shot, though, so...

You would think the Governor of Pennsylvania would have other issues to be concerned with other than BR getting a haircut. Politicians like this will be a big stumbling block for starting the NFL season. The governor is ridiculous and he should really let two consenting adults alone.
Secure NHALS early and then go deep into the PLAYOFFS.
In his defense he was specifically asked about Ben at a presser. When politicians are baited with dumb questions they should really learn to say no comment.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 7:47 amYou would think the Governor of Pennsylvania would have other issues to be concerned with other than BR getting a haircut. Now they all want to "tell it like it is," though. Unless it involves them negatively and directly, "no comment" from political leaders is on hiatus.

Sounds like a real fascist. My concern is just a general concern and anybody who puts himself or herself into harm’s way is something I think we ought to try to avoid…And when you go to something like a barbershop and you’re not protected, I don’t care who you are. The chances of that virus wreaking havoc on your life increases…I don’t think any Pennsylvanian ought to take that chance. I certainly don’t want to take that chance myself.”
Gee, what did Drama say?

Yes politicians have a way of making everything about politics. I agree that "no comment" would have been nice to hear but probably it would not have been acceptable to many trying to enforce his policies. To me it is just an illustration of how challenging it will be for the NFL to open if a player can't even get a haircut (free or not) without all the drama. I am still very hopeful that the season will unfold but I doubt it will be without drama.Professor Half Wit wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 12:32 pmFurther, it's not like Wolf breathed fire about it.R_S wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 11:06 amIn his defense he was specifically asked about Ben at a presser. Surely Tomlin wouldn’t give away a roster spot based on an offseason session of catch would he??
Please tell me no.
No way Switz is in the top 5 of WR options.

You're forgetting there are 2 extra roster spots, and I think 2 extra hats on game day, now.
Besides being Ben's buddy, I'm sure they keep Switz as a security blanket on returns and vet receiver depth. If we had those extra 2 spots last year we would have kept Spencer and then Switz would be gone.

To answer that truthfully would put the barber in jeopardy of losing his license. Supposedly they are friends and he was "not working" during the time.

Seriously? PA has had 64,000+ cases and 4700+ deaths. What should Wolf have done, nothing?

I think those numbers pretty much highlight the fact that instead of entertaining questions about Ben's haircut regimen, he probably should have moved on to more pressing matters.

Focus on the nursing homes
Focus on the elderly
Focus on those with underlying issues
Focus on meat processors
Focus on testing
Focus on preparing the hospitals
Put your resources where the problem is know to exist. By now most people have figured out how to mitigate the virus.

The bolded, more than anything, is what matters most. If "we" had ramped up testing and tracking ability, there would be much less risk to reopening. I'm still dismayed that we, the USA, could not replicate what S. Korea did. Total failure.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 2:59 amFocus on the nursing homes
