I think more info will be available Tuesday. But I guess keeping up with the talking heads on twitter could yield some info.

When he thinks about the Steeler D, his concussion will not get better.

My bet is, the Red Rifle thinks better about coming off a bad concussion then immediately facing our pass rush/defense.

He'll have a setback and will be unavailable come game time.

There's a 5 step protocol to return to playing: https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2016/9/18/ ... -explained

I believe Dalton has made it to step 4. Jerruh said on Friday that he expects him to be ready to go for the Steelers game.

Hasn't been playing very well but is better than Nuch. Doubt he lasts the game. Done after a few sacks.

This is going to be a nailbiter, I think. All the makings of a letdown game after CLE, TEN and BAL. Tomlin & Co. historically mail it in on a week like this, and typically struggle mightily.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Zeke will be running his ass off and we're banged up on the defensive line.

Worried about the run, the backers and DB's will be beat up from making tackles and Dalton will hit some plays on us.

I could definitely see this being a 24-17 game or something.

Agreed. We're coming off super physical back-to-back games. Would be shocked if we come out playing at a high level next week.

I would like to see the Steelers go pass heavy this week. Jump out to a lead and coast in the second half with all back ups in. As stated in another thread get McFarland the majority of the snaps in the second half maybe throw some odd ball shit out there on tape to take up practice and prep time from upcoming teams.

Dallas has 1.5 NFL o-linemen.

It don't matter who starts but I'm taking Dallas and the points.

Andy Dalton remains in concussion protocol
Posted by Charean Williams on November 2, 2020, 8:37 PM EST

I doubt the dude is budging if he knows what is good for him.

The Cowboys started their third quarterback in four games Sunday when rookie Ben DiNucci played against the Eagles.

They hope DiNucci has played his final game this season.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on his radio show Friday he expected to have Andy Dalton back in the lineup for the Week 9 game against the Steelers.

But coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Dalton remains in concussion protocol.

“Andy hasn’t officially cleared the protocol,” McCarthy said. “Once we make it through that, we’ll announce it to you.”

Dalton was injured on an illegal hit by Washington linebacker Jon Bostic in Week 7. That forced the Cowboys to dig deep into the depth chart for Sunday, and they managed only nine points and 265 yards in the loss to the Eagles.

The Cowboys ranked third in the NFL in scoring in the five games Dak Prescott started, averaging 32.6 points per game. He went out after 44 offensive plays in Week 5 against the Giants.

In the three games since, the Cowboys have scored a total of 22 points. Their only touchdown the past three games was a 1-yard pass from Dalton to Amari Cooper with 2:48 left in a blowout loss to the Cardinals.

The Cowboys ranked first in yards with Prescott, who led the league in passing.

“No. 1, it starts with Dak,” McCarthy said of the team’s recent offensive struggles. “Anytime an offense loses its starting quarterback, especially the way Dak was playing, I mean he was playing at a high level. Obviously, a ton of production [lost], but I think also the combination of the other injuries. As we’ve talked time and time again in here, the loss to the offensive line, when you lose a number of veterans at one position, it’s obviously an added stress.”

Dalton is on Covid reserve list. He is out per McAfee show reading a tweet.

EDIT:
from draft kings
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton will miss Week 9 due to being placed on the Covid-19 list, per Todd Archer. Dalton missed the Week 8 game due to still being in concussion protocol, so there was a chance he could miss this week’s matchup with the Steelers as it is, but now it’s a moot point.

Fer who?

I'd actually take dalton over a backup.

Wait. . .

Nevermind.

COR I meant it was a shitty week for Dalton. First his brains were scrambled now he has the Rona’.

But he doesn’t have to get destroyed by Watt and Tuitt, so that’s actually a plus for him.

@RapSheet
The #Cowboys are seriously contemplating turning to QB Cooper Rush as their starter this week… which would require he get activated from the practice squad, source said. With Andy Dalton down with COVID, it may not be Ben DiNucci again.

I keep saying this week we need to jump out to a lead and rest all the starters as much as possible. McFarland, Rudolph, Ray Ray, Gentry, Mondeaux etc. All the back ups need to play a lot of snaps once we get a nice lead. Use this like a scrimmage.

I know. 8-)

The steelers suck at defending backups. Steelers know dalton. That's why I wish he were playing, covid notwithstanding. . . Sucks for him, for sure.

Otherwise, some unknown guy is gonna pull a montana on the steelers.

This dude might be better than Dalton. See how he does when the heat is on.

Dallas Cowboys
On May 12, 2017, the Dallas Cowboys signed Cooper Rush as an undrafted rookie free agent.[17]

He competed with Zac Dysert throughout training camp for the job as the third-string quarterback. Rush had an impressive camp and competed with Luke McCown for a backup quarterback position after Zac Dysert suffered a herniated disc.[18]

Following multiple productive preseason performances in the Hall of Fame Game and the next two contests, he began to share second-team reps in practice with backup quarterback Kellen Moore before the preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. During the contest, he was given most of the time with the second-team offense and completed 12 of his 13 attempts for 115-yards and two touchdowns in a comeback 24–20 victory. He finished the preseason with a total of 38 pass completions out of 51 attempts, 398 passing yards, and six touchdown passes with no interceptions.[19] Head coach Jason Garrett named Rush the Cowboys' third quarterback on their depth chart, behind Dak Prescott and Moore.[20] Rush did not dress for the first five games and was a healthy scratch. Rush was promoted to second string for the sixth game of the season. Moore was then released and signed to the Cowboy's practice squad.[21][22] In Week 7, in the 40–10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, he appeared late in the game in relief of Prescott. He was 1-of-3 passing for 2 yards and had 2 rushes for 13 yards in his NFL debut.[23]

On March 18, 2020, Rush re-signed with the Cowboys on a one-year restricted free agent tender.[24] On May 4, Rush was waived by the Cowboys after the team signed former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton.[25]

Pine Richland boy looked so lost last week. Can’t imagine him trying to decipher Steelers Defense. The Cowboys only chance is if Heyward is out and they establish a run game.

If Heyward is out they better know that you can only hope to contain Buggs on the D-Line.
